It seems like rocket science to you....it's not as easy as that...you neglect to see how almost 8 years of Trudeau has done to Canada....yeah...I wouldn't blame it all on him alone...the Premiers have as much to blame for it...including Dofo....they didn't do shit about th is problem....You keep throwing around "tax" like...how much tax increase are we gonna have?
CERB reduced poverty.
DoFo cutting services, health care, mental health care, LTR and transit funding increased poverty.

I need to correct you on that one.

No, that is a common myth. Fentanyl cannot be readily absorbed through the skin, nor can you overdose on fentanyl by touching a doorknob or dollar bill.

What we used to do is put people who had severe drug and mental issues into treatment programs. It was determined that this practice went against an individual's rights. So now what we have is all the homeless, drug addicts and people with mental problems roaming the streets. We provide "safe injection" sites that makes it easier for the drug dealers to target their customers. We let them set up tents and take over our parks. We let them wander the streets like zombies. Is that actually better than the was we used to do things? Our policies now, clearly aren't working.

When people talk of "affordable housing" to get people off the streets, what they really mean is "free housing." And who is going to pay for that? The unfortunate part, is these people are so messed up that even if you give them a free place to stay, it usually gets destroyed along with the area around it in no time. Just look at what happened to the two hotels the city took over to house the homeless. One at Mt. Pleasant and Eglinton and the other on the Esplanade. It was a disaster in and around both locations. People who lived in the area, ones who pay lots in taxes and other fees have had enough of the violence, human excrement, discarded needles, ear-piercing chaos, and general debauchery that ensued in those neighbourhoods.
If you say so.. I’ll tell that to people I know that have had reactions…including a nurse doing cpr that had a bad one.

It's gotten to the point they are ruining entire cities. The snowflakes think they can save everyone. They need to only give 1 drug related medical call per person per year. Ban the use of naloxone. How can we let them ruin civilization? Give help to the 15% that actually need it.

I know london ontario is a mess. I know many cities are now.
I live in a small town north of Peterborough and it's getting bad. Lots of petty....breaking into cars, bikes getting stolen and people scooters. You drive by one of the churches up here and you see lots of them sleeping on the grass in front of the church. I'm a contractors and have major issues with them squatting on job sites and stealing tools.

Its the other way around, billionaires are stealing our money through controlling how much people are paid, how much they have to pay for food/lodging and how much housing costs.
They can buy supreme court judges and politicians like DoFo to change the rules of the game to their favour.
Absolutely agree.

To make america great again, like some people seem to want, well you need to make sure anyone can have a proper roof on a low salary. If by working 40h a week your are guaranteed a roof all will be fine.

Otherwise be ready to see much more riot, looters, criminality, etc...

One OD’s and 2 more come and take their place on the park bench . I don’t know anything about London , lots of druggies there?
Every city has them but london ontario is quite bad, completely overrun in my opinion.
get a fuckin grip.....fining people for providing $ or food and drink is truly regressive.....its like at a zoo..dont feed the animals..........your solution it seems to be ..let them die...o the humanity
They don't need money, there's places to sleep for them but they choose not to because they don't like the rules. Every city has soup kitchens for them to eat. Snowflakes like you are only making it worse. Help the 20% that need it. The grifters walking around with backpacks on drinking and mething, stop enabling them. Why don't you take some of them in?

What reactions? What were the circumstances in each case? I know many police officers, doctors and nurses. They tell me it's not a serious risk. Mass media reports of fentanyl toxicity by first responders through passive contact in their job duties are more myth than fact.

The link you sent is a "safety guideline" for first responders in North Carolina. Like anything, there's a set of safety protocols/precautions when handling any potentially toxic substance, including fentanyl. While there are risks, it's not like first responders are overdosing by coming into contact with drug addicts.

In fact, this is from the link you shared: To date, there have been no documented nor confirmed cases of overdoses among first responders in North Carolina through occupational exposure via routine duties.

It's easy to always blame government. Ask any fireman or paramedic what it's like to deal with them everyday?
utterly agree with the second sentence.
what’s the cost of housing/rent these days like? For people with university degrees. Good paying jobs….

SanFran
Having hard time retaining teachers…(and more)…why?
Because you either work for the big teck firms and make a ton of $$. Or you’re on the streets.
Who ultimately is responsible for the shit show the GTAs housing problem…Hydro rates….etc and so.

15-20 years ago I thought the US might explode, but not in my life time. Now I’m not so sure.

when was the last time people “attacked the White House and killed a few”

CERB reduced poverty.
No it didn't. it was temporary aide...WTF LoL...do you know how much strain in the economy CERB in the long run would be? Where the fuck do you think the funds come from? people not entirely going back to work causes a lot of lay offs....lay offs result to idle people...and where do those people go? If anything...CERB had negative impact overall...

I am not going to get into specifics gamerboy. You said it’s a myth. (But say depends)I’m telling you it’s not, deal with that.

the risk is low but always there.. So is getting hit by lightning. Would you go golfing when there’s electricity in the air?

We're talking about an accidental overdose by a first responder/doctor/nurse etc. coming in contact with someone whose doing fentanyl. What I'm saying is the risk is close to zero if they're wearing PPE, as they should be. As for your golf analogy, for the same reason you don't go golfing in a thunderstorm, you wear PPE when dealing with anyone suspected of coming into contact with fentanyl.

I said it's a myth, you're saying it's not. The onus is on you to provide examples, or it is in fact a myth. You simply telling me it's not, doesn't pass muster.

For example, here's a link providing reasons as to why accidental exposure is highly unlikely. Note the part where it says, the consensus of the scientific community. I put more faith in what they say over you're telling me.

"The consensus of the scientific community remains that illness from unintentional exposures is extremely unlikely, because opioids are not efficiently absorbed through the skin and are unlikely to be carried in the air. In a rare case report of law enforcement officer opioid exposure in a peer-reviewed literature, clinical manifestations were not consistent with opioids, and none of the law enforcement officers tested was positive for opioid metabolites. In other words, the phenomenon of first responder opioid exposure that seemed to be frequently reported in news media has not been confirmed scientifically. Nevertheless, these media reports led to recommendations for higher level PPE for emergency responders."

The pay for 'essential workers' isn't enough to afford housing and food in the GTA.
The least wealthy 40% of households in Canada account for 2.7% of the countries net worth.

Its income disparity.
Time for higher wages and the UBI.

Where I live homeowners property taxes are skyrocketing to cover the care the junkies need. They need twice as many cops but no money in the budget. If the cream puffs would just take one junkie each in, problem solved.

Sure....I would just follow Lee Trevino's advice. He said " when there is a chance of lightning I just hold a 1 iron up in the air because not even God can hit a 1 iron."

What do you classify as "essential workers?"
