Good!..........Maybe non Asian parents can learn something here.I think this year like previous years, the top Ontario high school graduates will be E.I.'s and East Asians. Are we allowed to say this?
I still remember the top student (EI) from a few years ago. She gave all the credit to her dad who drove a cab 24/7 to take care of his family. I did a search but was unable to find her story. I did find two other stories (among others) about ethnicity and universities (see links below).Good!..........Maybe non Asian parents can learn something here.
Of course fatherless families are a big problem........
Would the term "toxic environment" have any meaning there on Bizarro World ???They are trying that in construction. It hasn't been very successful. For some reason, nobody can't figure it out, ladies are not lining up to become laborers or bricklayers.
Who do you think is going to keep all those mining robots working? Bunch a the usual privileged white clods, eh???I'm sure there will be tons of women clamoring to go up north into harsh living conditions to work in the mines.......
exactlyAnd if their the best people for the jobs then that is great....Merit!
The problem is enforcing equality of outcome......

So when they stop mining because either better resources are developed elsewhere or deposits play out you get a toxic workforce with limited job prospects. Going to make sure they have access to firearms as well???yeah right
the mines are just overflowing with upper canada college grads or those who grew up in Rosedale... not
more likely most employees grew up in mining towns
So is your point the Citi is lucky that the immigration policies are what they are or the IT deportment would be empty. Our IT department is 100% E.I.
Several years ago I was in the Citibank office in NYC and they took me on a tour of their trading floor. 100% or nearly 100% E.I.

That's really old school sexism. If any women apply for anything to do with mining, it'll be for positions indoors at a desk. They'll be kept busy updating employee pronouns and attaching land acknowledgements to all email signatures like the following:
"Company X is located on the traditional territories of the Wendat, Haudenosaunee, Anishnabeg, and the Mississaugas of the Credit. This territory is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Anishinabeg and Haudenosaunee allied nations to peaceably share and care for the lands around the Great Lakes."
Right. You do have issues with reality. I mean, you're also someone that believes men can become women. That's really old school sexism.
Haven't heard that in a while.
Are you typing this from Beijing? We need quotas because we cannot trust people to behave unequivocally and because people are biased. White people will prefer white people. Minorities will prefer other minorities. So we need quotas to ensure we don't leave it up to "meritocracy" because objective meritocracy does not exist. It is always subjective and people's judgement cannot be trusted. Quotas only ensure that everyone is represented but the people who are chosen still are qualified and therefore the meritocracy still applies.
Ah, you're one of those people who believe women who can't have kids aren't real women, correct?Right. You do have issues with reality. I mean, you're also someone that believes men can become women.
I'm one who believes in chromosomes, i.e. science.Ah, you're one of those people who believe women who can't have kids aren't real women, correct?
Indeed. It is not even new that women actually work in mines equal to men, get dirty and all that.
Did no one watch that Charlize Theron movie North Country that was based on the landmark class action case against sexual harrassement filed by Lois Benson against Eveleth Taconite mining company back in the 80s? If women worked in mines then, women are capable and do work in mines today.
What about intersex?I'm one who believes in chromosomes, i.e. science.
