What do you think about circumcision?

I really miss my foreskin. Would always play with it as a kid. An injury caused it to get tighter and tighter. The string of skin under the head would not fully heal.
I held out as long as I could and even had surgery on that string of skin. But as the urologist warned, that usually never works.

Where I came from, its a taboo to have foreskin. No woman will sleep with you without the snip. And you get called several derogatory names.
But my mom was against the practice so I went to boarding school without the snip.
To hide my shame, I took showers very early and would hide the stick between my legs when someone came upon me. It was so embarrassing.
After two years of hide and seek, I finally had it done. It was so freaking painful I cursed my mom until she passed away. Awful woman.

I've had a couple of friends who are not cut and both got uti's who gave them to their so's their doctors bot recommended circumcision which put them threw excruciating pain for a couple of weeks but they both said they were glad to get it done. I've been cut since birth and I'm happy. This is a way of keeping your self clear of infection. And really it's just extra piece of skin no more than a skin tag
Myth: Uncircumcised boys get more urinary tract infections (UTIs.)
Reality check: This claim is based on one study that looked at charts of babies born in one hospital (Wiswell 1985). The study had many problems, including that it didn't accurately count whether or not the babies were circumcised, whether they were premature and thus more susceptible to infection in general, whether they were breastfed (breastfeeding protects against UTI), and if their foreskins had been forcibly retracted (which can introduce harmful bacteria and cause UTI) (Pisacane 1990). There have been many studies since which show either no decrease in UTI with circumcision, or else an increase in UTI from circumcision. Thus circumcision is not recommended to prevent UTI (Thompson 1990). Girls have higher rates of UTI than boys, and yet when a girl gets a UTI, she is simply prescribed antibiotics. The same treatment works for boys.

Background: Ritual circumcision in neonates may cause a urinary tract infection within 2 weeks of the procedure.
Objectives: To evaluate the prevalence of urinary tract infection among Jewish male circumcised neonates < or = 28 days old) evaluated for fever in the emergency room.
Methods: All available medical records of neonates presenting to the pediatric emergency room for evaluation of fever over a 10 year period were reviewed. Data included gender, ethnic background, age (in days) on presentation to the emergency room, age (in days) when circumcision was performed (in males > or = 8 days of age), and results of urine, blood and cerebrospinal fluid cultures. Families of males older than 8 days of age who had a UTI were contacted by telephone to verify the circumcision status when the infant presented to the ER, to ascertain whether the circumcision had been performed ritually by a mohel* or by a physician, and, if not recorded in the chart, to verify the day of life on which circumcision was performed.
Results: Among neonates older than 8 days of age, 60 (24.7%) of the 243 febrile Jewish males had a UTI, as compared to 12 (8.4%) of 143 females (P < 0.0001). In 39 of 54 male neonates (72%) for whom circumcision was performed ritually on the eighth day of life, UTI occurred within 9 days of the circumcision. For females, there was no such clustering of UTI cases in the second week of life, nor during any other time period.
Conclusions: Febrile male neonates who have undergone ritual circumcision have a high prevalence of UTI and must be evaluated and treated accordingly.

It’s much more hygienic and appealing to the eye I have been told by every woman.

I literally said in my OP not to talk about it being more hygienic because that’s a myth. Please don’t mutilate your son’s genitals because you’re too lazy to clean yourself properly or teach him how toIt’s much more hygienic and appealing to the eye I have been told by every woman.

Funny, I was chatting about this with someone the other day, and I learned (from only this one source) that in Japan, circumcision is not a general practice, but is viewed as okanemochi, or belonging to the wealthy and upper class. So it was more desirable and elite for women to have a man that was circumcised. I won't share what my Google search revealed about this and other cultures, as it might be biased.
Either way, it's wrong to define your identity based on whether you're snipped or not. Be grateful for what you have. Happy people aren't always grateful, but grateful people are always happy.

Well when it was done I really didn't have much of a choice at the time.
Funny when I had children (many years ago) my wife and I discussed circumcision if we had a boy.
We thought about so many factors like;
Do you want him to "look" like his Dad?
Is this just wrong to do body modification on someone who can't decide yet?
Will we be able to properly educate them on cleaning, etc.?
What are Pediatricians saying about it?
What is commonly happening today? We were thinking about down the road in high school gym class taking showers. Would he be mocked for being different?
Not as if it was a heated debate, in the end we never had to finalize the decision since I have two daughters but I think we were leaning towards leaving them natural

It is a mechanical or a medical issue. For me it is a short frenulum, so it wont pull back all the way when erect.

A day after my son was born, wife and baby were still in the hospital. I was walking up and down the hallway of the maternity ward with my newborn son in my arms.
I wandered into a particular room in the maternity ward, and on the table, I saw the "board" that babies are strapped to for circumcision to be performed. The board had four straps... one for each limb.
That sight scared the heck out of me, and I was very glad that we decided not to circumsize my son.

I was circumcized at a very young age like most guys around my age born in Canada. I have no basis for comparison, so no idea if I am missing anything. I would be interested in knowing what women in general prefer: cut or uncut ... just curious. I don't expect any advertisers on this board to state a clear preference as it could turnoff potential clients.
Appearance wise I think it’s clear that cut is preferred, one only needs look at porn where uncut men is extremely rare. I believe it was Sex & The City that had a famous scene about the look of cut versus uncut.
If a man mature enough to decide for himself to get it done, he should do what boosts his esteem. But parents doing this because they are uninformed about hygiene myths is sad. Doing it for religious reasons would make me question my beliefs. Dads doing it because they want their kids to look like them is incredibly egotistical. Parents doing it because they’re already thinking about their son’s future sex life is very disturbing.
Unless it’s a medical need or an elective procedure chosen by a individual at age of consent, it’s just so bizarre to me that this practice still exists.
