A new independent regulator for English football would have the power to prevent Premier League clubs from joining a European Super League.

Newcastle will be no push over regardless of who keeps goal. They have conceded just 15 goals in 23 matches and have lost just 2.

Goes to show how far a good defense can carry a team. They've won only 10 games (10-11-2)
but their goal difference ranks 3rd behind Arsenal and MC's. Those 11 draws speak volumes.

Klopp is very stubborn with his tactics because this is the style he used to win the league. With these ageing midfielders and forwards unable to press like they used to, it’s almost suicidal to stick with the high defensive line.

He should be stubborn with his system because it's worked. But you're right, it's not working with older injured midfielders and so you either adapt your system - which football managers don't do - or you go out and change the players. I think the issue is that the FSG approach to the transfer windows has hamstrung Klopp after a few bad windows.

And those bad windows are bad because the players they obtained, like Thiago, just can't stay healthy for long enough periods of time.

That being said I think it's obvious that 1 of 2 things will happen in regards to Klopp.
1. 5-7 Klopp-type players are purchased between May (obviously moves happen once the window opens) through August 1
2. Klopp, and the majority of his backroom staff, are "mutually terminated" in mid-June.

The biggest story, both for EPL & European football, of the Spring/Summer is going to be the sale of United. This is solely due to the potential impact on PSG and whether changes will need to be made in regards to European competition rules.

As for transfer deals - any team in the EPL are going to be astronomical. Even relegation candidates are going to have to spend ludicrous amounts due to the automatic EPL inflation on sales/purchases.

Barcelona sold off their stadium naming rights, activated a bunch of economic levers, and basically mortgaged their future to get around their crippling debt so they could put this squad together.

Very good game, Barcelona was playing hard in the first period, but in the second period ManUtd came back with a vengeance. Seems that since Ronaldo left , they're on fire.

Klopp pulled Mane and Salah from relative obscurity and turned them into superstars. That's what needs to happen. An overrated and expensive Bellingham is not what Liverpool needs

IMO Mane would be a superstar anywhere, regardless of what team he plays for.
Salah on the other hand thrives under certain conditions, not sure what they are lol
since he alternates between superstar and average (but is very lethal if given space).

They were discussing this just yesterday on the Liverpool Reddit and someone posted this video. When Firmino and Mane were his forward partners they worked hard to make Salah the focal point of Liverpool’s attacks. Firmino would drop deep and almost play as a linking attacking midfielder. Manes work ethic on the other wing would free up lots of space for salah to drift from the wing into the striker position to bag the goals.

This season he’s mainly been playing with Nunez, who likes to occupy the central striker area of the pitch himself and use his pace to run in behind defenders. Opposing teams are also targeting Alexander Arnold as the weak defensive link, so Salah has to stay out wide and track back to help out Trent more than previous seasons.

He still has 19 goals and 9 assists this season, but it’s still not what we’re used to seeing from him.

My point is Mane and Salah were not superstars until arrival at Liverpool and therefore did not command astronomical transfer fees.
People are talking about Bellingham as if he is already a superstar with Dortmund looking for a record transfer fee. Buyers beware is my other point.
It is difficult to predict how midfielders will perform whey they change clubs. Chelsea will learn this the hard way about Enzo Fernandez
