Sure, even if Leafs win all 3 of those games Boston can still get points for losing.
Of the 3 games remaining vs Boston 2 are in Boston. Boston has only lost at home in regulation once.
That happened yesterday to a team that has won their last 7. The current longest winning streak.

The point is that they have a decent chance to put a dent in that lead and not completely rely on the other teams.
I wouldn't use the word decent. You make it sound like Leafs are favoured.
Just enjoy the game(s) for what it is and don't expect to beat Boston 3 straight in regulation.
I'd say if they win 2 out of the 3 in any such way it's an epic accomplishment and they still may only gain a point from it.

Hardly. In my previous post I said "potentially"

They're 1 and 2 in the east. It's common to say anything can happen in a short series and these aren't even series. They are 3 one-offs.

Sure, you're talking about 6 pts. That's win 3 games in regulation. Two of which are in Boston. That's not just anything can happen. They're not just 1 and 2. It's Boston and the rest of the field. Toronto being in the group with TB, Carolina, Dallas, Vegas, Winnipeg, New Jersey, New York Rangers, and even Seattle. You make it sound like Leafs are on par with Boston.

Boston 5 regulation losses all season. Leafs double that 10 regulation losses.
Boston +65 goal differential. Double that of Leafs +31

I think you have some comprehension issues.

I'm talking a possibility of Leafs making some ground.

You're talking a certainty that the Leafs won't.

Since you're certain, how about you give me 20:1 odds on a $5 dollar bet? Which team gets more points from these 3 games. It sounds like you are guaranteed to make $5.

You are correct. I do not comprehend you ... I'll now return to my regularly scheduled programming

Morgan Rielly will need to play a lot better for the Leafs to have a chance to pass either Tampa or Boston. Timmins had a stinker against the Bruins but it seems whoever partners with Rielly struggles. The team played really well both ends when he was out, but defence and goaltending seem to have lost its mojo with his return. It’s a coach’s big headache when he needs to shield his highest paid d man.

Leafs just beat Winnipeg Jets 4:1.
Sam sonic had 37 saves. Mathews scored 2, Marner 1, Giodarno 1 on empty net.
NYlander has 44 goals so far this season. He needs one more goal to qualify for $10 million pay cheque next season.
