Chinese went to their hometowns during the Chinese New Year holidays and returned to major cities and the world in 2020 with high rates of infection. Guess what is about to happen? With again no accurate data on type of Covid, rates of infection, hospitalization, deaths, etc., as demanded by WHO, Chinese returning from CNY holidays can spread a different type of Covid globally. Again. This is why some countries have adopted a safety first approach requiring testing of all passengers from China. Italy found 52% Covid positive passengers on one recent flight.

I am saying Canada should take the same precautionary approach as US, UK, Japan, etc. and test all arrivals from China. This is just common sense. But you know what, common sense is not common to the ignoramus.

I also think blanket banning arrivals is not necessary. Why ban someone from coming if they dont have covid? We have tests that can reveal that, so just test them prior to boarding and test them on arrival and isolate if they have symptoms. Make them show vaccine proofs and and maybe implement mask mandates only for those passengers.

Testing arrivals is good, I agree with that. Test them prior to boarding, test them on arrival, mask mandates on those flights, vaccine proofs via ArriveCAN etc are enough.

I was against blanket banning travel or implementing any restrictions here in Canada. But not sure if I misunderstood what you were saying or lost track.

They do have vaccines. Its not like vaccines here are preventing anything. I got covid 3 times after taking 3 shots.

And we can definitely trust pcr test results. I am sure they can manage that lol
