Chiefs against Bills is now the marque game of the NFL. And it will be played every year like the Peyton Manning Colts used to play the Tom Brady Pats every year in the regular season. Maholmes threw an interception late in the game to quash every notion of victory. He had been intercepted in the end zone earlier. Bills 24 Chiefs 20. This was the exact score predicted by Tony Romo midway in the first half when there was no score. No wonder he is now known as Romostradamus.

Anyone remember Geno Smith erstwhile Jets QB? He has resurfaced in Seattle and doing great with the Seahawks as they defeated the Cardinals. A truly feel good story

That Chiefs Bills game was fantastic. So glad it was a 4:30 start or I would have missed it entirely.

Takeaways from 1/3 into the season
Even though they are 4-2, the Chargers haven't impressed me at all. They were my pre season pick to win the AFC. I get that they've had some injuries but great teams compensate with depth. Herbert seems to be struggling with consistency.
The Giants are 5-1, didn't see that. Amazing what a new coach can do. Barkley looks rejuvenated in the backfield, hopefully he can remain healthy.
The Jets are 4-2, didn't see that either. But it's a mirage. Wouldn't shock me to see them finish 7-10.
My Packers stink. Rodgers just wants a paycheck. They will regret losing Davante Adams for years to come.
Josh Allen is still my MVP pick. He is the complete package. He and Diggs have a great rapport and Gabriel Davis is the real deal too. Should the Bills make a move for RB Cam Akers who is on the trading block in LA?
Can we just come to the realization that Baker Mayfield is an NFL bust? Dude was ridiculous in college but that has just not transferred to the pros. Is it mental with him, who knows?

There were only two good quarterbacks from that fabled 2018 NFL draft, Allen and Jackson. The rest, Mayfield, Darnold, and especially Josh Rosen, have been busts.

It's very fitting that you are a packers fan. Aaron rogers is an asshole. He had to make so much money they couldn't pay any other talent and now he's whining sbout it. Rogers is 38 and near the end of a great career. His skill seems to have dismissed and his attitude is cancerous so its unlikely many teams would take him on.
As for Mayfield, every qb in browns history has been a bust just like Chicago post McMahon. The only problem with the Bills is that they may be peaking too early - if the injury bug bites and they lose some key players it may turn into another hope filled disappointment for bills fans.

I see a future problem for the Bills. Sooner or later the players will want to cash in on team success. Wide receivers will want to be paid top dollar, defensive starters will want to be paid as well.

I agree with your assessment. The Giants are my biggest surprise. The Ravens blew a couple of chances to get an early lead in their division, however I think Ciny is a more complete team and will win it. The Vikings have surprised me a little but I do not think they are a favorite in that conference. I thought Tampa would have run away with that division by now.

Looking forward - Will SF take control of that conference? Will Philly continue their run? How will Dallas respond with Dak back? Will the Miami QB be fully recovered and revert back to his early season form?

I expect Philly to win the NFC East when all is said and done. They are the most complete team there. With the best offensive line in football.
The Vikings will win the NFC North easily but I agree they aren't a contender come post season.
SF definitely asserted themselves with the CMC pickup. What will the Rams do now given their woes at the RB position? Dallas still has holes and Dak has had so many injuries in recent years it could hinder his effectiveness to lead his team to where it needs to be. I was expecting rookie WR Jalen Tolbert to have a much bigger effect, especially given their lack of depth at the wideout position. I also think they should incorporate Tony Pollard more, at this point he's a better RB than Zeke.

They gave up alot for injury prone, big contract player.
You're correct they gave up a 2nd, 3rd and 4th round pick in 2023 and a 3rd round pick in 2024. That's a lot but I think despite the injuries he still has the ability to be a game changer.

Tom Brady missed practice on Saturday to attend Robert Kraft's wedding and his team lost 20-18 to the woeful Steelers. Which brings up the classic Alan Iverson rant about practice.

My favorite sports rant ever. We're talking about practice??
That loss is on Brady. There's no way he should have missed his new team's practice to attend his old team's owner kraft's wedding! The guy's 90!!! (his "bride" is 41 so good move on his part) this is like his 5th wedding. I'm sure Brady attended wedding #2-4 previously.

I am so looking forward to this Chiefs 49'ers matchup at 4:30. Game of the week.
Jets get lucky yet again. Russell Wilson not playing for the Broncos.
Can someone explain to me how the Giants (5-1) are a 3 point underdog at Jaguars (2-4)?

That the caveat of winning - everyone wants more money. I'm pretty sure the Bills have their core players locked up so the rest of the guys you just keep shuffling the deck and see what you get

Three years ago this guy was worth 2 first round picks on top of what they got. I haven't seen him play this year.so.not sure but if he's anywhere near what he was he's a beast

My Chargers are looking awful. Three starting receivers are now out. Canadian Josh Palmer, Keenan Allen (didn't finish the game) and David Williams.

Joey Bosa and now J.C. Jackson on Defense.

Combine that with Justin Herbert playing through cracked rib cartilage.

This team has struggled with a relatively light schedule so far. I can't honestly see this team making the post season the way it is constructed and coached right now.

As usual per this organization a lot of hype but then just fizzled........

On two occasions against the Steelers, Tua Tagovailoa lowered his shoulders and his helmet and plowed into a wall of defenders. No sliding. No running out of bounds. For someone who was knocked unconscious barely two weeks ago, he must have stones in his brain. No doubt

Christian McCaffrey (aka CMC) pulled off a trifecta: Rushing touchdown, receiving touchdown and throwing touchdown. Only 2 other players have achieved that feat. He is the most dynamic running back in the game. 49ers thumped the Rams, who dont seem to have recovered from Super Bowl champagne.

Jalen Hurts threw for 4 touchdowns as the Eagles romped to 7-0 record. Should the 72 Dolphins be nervous? Hurts is MVP right now.

The feel good story of Seahawks QB Geno Smith continues. Given up for dead by the Jets, Giants and Chargers and languishing behind Russell Wilson for 3 years, Smith has highest QBR rating in the NFC and 4th overall. He threw for 3 TDs as Eagles bashed their Keystone State rivals Steelers. He is making maximum $3.5 million, freeing up hefty $$ from Russell Wilson contract for the Hawks to upgrade in other positions.

Game is over. Player covered in sweat and dirt. Testosterone still raging. And here comes this uber hot (invariably blonde) babe like Laura Rutledge of ESPN sticking a microphone in his face. That's not fair

Have to admit I was surprised with the ass kicking the Browns put on the Bengals. I still think Cincy will be in the playoffs as every team has one of those games.

Philly and SF are the favorites in that conference. Still not sold on the Giants and I doubt that GB and TB will factor in to the equation.

Who would have thought the Falcons would be leading the division at the half way mark, and with a .500 record - LOL!
