I can't help but notice that this article fixates on the "questionable Russian rape claims" but then mentions that the Ukrainian report about that only has that as "one of the reasons" she was let go.
What are the other reasons?
Is this about "she was making up atrocities" or is "she was sloppy about verification" just part of her generally shit work that got her fired?
(Or is there even more to the story? Does she come from the opposition party?)
This could well be exactly the story, but this framing seems pretty suspect and everyone knows Newsweek stopped being a credible outlet when it was sold years ago.
