I root for the Leafs but Lightning is a solid team and as long as my boy Stamkos is there, they are dangerous...Leafs fans are a little over themselves thinking this will go 4-0....

TB power play was unstoppable in last years playoffs. It was unstoppable in game 2.
Leafs PP is currently 1 for 10 and that 1 was on a 5 on 3.
5 on 5 Leafs are the better team.

They have to stay out of the box. Obviously you're going to be called for the odd infraction, but no more stupid penalties. I'm taking to you Simmons.

Hyman is playing great. He's coming off his best career season offensively, and it seems to be continuing in the playoffs. Looks like he was exactly what EDM was expecting when they got him. IMO it was a big loss for TOR although Bunting has been a very pleasant surprise too.
Damn. It's like finding out your ex-girlfriend is happy with her new squeeze. :D

I thought we played a great 1st period and unlucky to be down a goal. But that 2nd period did us in. The difference ultimately was TB's PP clicked and ours did not.
I also thought the refs didn't do us any favors with pretty chintzy calls but that alone didn't determine the outcome. Simple we need to be better for a full 60 minutes.
I agree Simmonds has to go. His skillset has deteriorated significantly. As much as I want to see Spezza in there I think we need to insert Clifford back in the lineup for a physical presence.

If you take out the enforcers, it will be the Bruins all over again.

On a lighter note Rick Tocchet survives Wayne Gretzky's slurping hypocrisy. Would Will Smith slap out Chuck - he picked the Leafs guaaraanteed!

We need a big game or two at least from both Nylander and Tavares to have a chance. Playing ok is not good enough. They need to produce on the scoreboard.

Vasi was spectacular in game 2. Campbell not so much. That Hedman goal with 1 second left in the first period looked weak. Made it a one goal game going into first intermission with a different mindset.
That stop on Lily in the slot with Vesi down, set up by Nylander, would have made it a one goal game again.
With just over a minute left in the 3rd period Matthews made a fabulous shot to the top corner stopped by the butt end of Vesi's stick. That would have made it a one goal game again as well.

The Tampa powerplay is forcing the Leaf box to collapse tightly right in front of Campbell and their shooters are right on top of the net.
They were starting to readjust their powerplay in the third period of game 1.
Cooper made the proper moves, Keefe has to do the same to push everyone out to the perimeter the way Tampa is doing to Toronto.

It's important to remember that Campbell's job is to be competitive and give the team a chance to win each game. It's not to steal every game on his own behind inconsistent team play. So far, he seems to be doing that.

obviously you haven't watched the post game (game1) interviews conducted at the tailgate party...
Why would I listen to, let alone value, the opinions of a bunch of drunk teens and barely 20 year olds?

Nobody here has said that and their comments are documented. As such I don't have to take your word for it.

Nor am I forcing you to...not only the interviews...even the panels after the game 1 victory were ridiculous...I gave them credit on having a good start and I hope they bounce back...I love the leafs...just not the ridiculous hype they are getting....both from media and fans...they do the same to the raptors and the jays...

I'm following the series pretty closely and I'm not seeing the hype that you mention.

Game 1 was a great win, but nobody was saying more than that. Tampa is 2 time defending champ and anybody calling for a sweep is an idiot. Anyone currently calling for the Leafs to win the next three is on some good drugs. I'm not saying that it's not possible but that would be a remarkable achievement seeing that the next 2 are in Tampa.

Based on who they're playing and the Leafs' history anybody with half a brain can have no more than cautious (as in extremely cautious) optimism.

Spezza in tonight, Simmonds out. Quelle surprise! LOL! Clifford also won't be in the lineup tonight. Another shocker!

Holl in tonight, Liljegren out. Looking for more size and experience on D and better penalty killing.
