The Clifford‘s penalty was dumb and could have blown the game wide open for Tampa who actually had the edge in play prior. As it turned out, ironically, that was the turning point imo as Marner and Kertfoot did a phenomenal penalty killing job. Not only they killed the 5 minute major, they out chanced Tampa and from that point on the Leafs looked to be the faster and quicker team. It’s just one game but it’s a first step in the right direction. No doubt Tampa will make adjustments and try to slow down the Leafs and we’ll see if coaching can make a difference.
