She was in the red zone and unless she could prove she was from Ottawa and had a reason to be there, she was going to be asked to leave. She knew this. She admitted she was not from Ottawa.
She was totally causing shit. Instigating and looking for trouble. However the trouble she should have gotten was arrested and removed from the area.
Cops are trained to be able handle all kinds of instigation. They are suppose to ignore being called an asshole or having a camera in their face. That is the job. Do the job properly.
If I was cop, it would have been much more satisfying to drag her as a to jail, then simply knock a phone out of her hand.
With what was going on and the fact that the protesters were calling any police action a form of brutality, they should have been extra careful and ensure they are following the law to the letter while being filmed.
Exactly. Well said.
She WAS trying to shit disturb and had her phone ready for when the weakling-bully cop took the bait.
She will suffer no consequences, and he, at the very least is going to have to sit for a proctological investigation and the stigma of being "one of these" bad cops.
As you say, we pay, and trust the cops with GUNS, NOT to lose their temper. "Please ma'am, this is a restricted zone, if you do not comply with my
lawful order to leave immediately I will arrest you and move you. If you continue to obstruct or interfere with me carrying out my duties, I will arrest you for that also".
Then turn her around and put the bracelets on, camera running! Her desire for short-lived insta-celebrity will be lost in the next few hours or days in a holding cell, months of court appearances, years of legal implications, lawyers fees and not to mention the risk of her losing her job if her employer has policies against bringing unwatned attention/ disrepute to their company.
