How many people are dead in the Middle East and Africa because of people like David Frum?
Frum is talking about Estonia, JC. Can you explain what you are trying to say?

I'm saying, and clearly, that Frum has no voice nor credibility in this conversation or any other that involves international relations. What's he suggesting, anyway? A nuclear war is a fair price for Estonia?

In life, you're either willing to step up or you're willing to bend over, drop your pants and lube up.

Everyone makes a choice, JC.

No, I just try to explain to you how Putin think and how the letter of the law can be stretched to support his point of view. Same as with the Emergency Act of JT.
Ah, so you also think the emergency act was genius.

ROTFLMFAO!! This is an hypothetical scenario that will never happen. The kind of argument a journalist or an immature individual would pose...or both. The only mistake Trump made(because he is not a politician) was to answer the question honestly. There is not a person in the world that would not sacrifice Estonia in order to prevent a nuclear holocaust and the destruction of the human race. And that goes as much for Trump, Putin or even the Moron of Ottawa. There's no such thing as stepping up with MAD on the line.

Fact is, Putin made many overtures for peace leading up to this. With Ukraine poised to attack the rebels, and no one taking him seriously, he has been forced to preempt the attack. Ukraine will be yet another nation that trusted the west and lost everything.

Well as of now, Putin already "encroached" part of Ukraine under the guise of "peacekeeping"...It is now up to UN how they interpret that act...I see it as Russia flexing it's muscle backed by big brother China...obviously he doesn't care about the sanctions anymore...
To the majority of nations Russia has invaded Ukraine, and we all know that the so called "Peacekeeping" is Putin's version of a "Genocide" in the offing!!
The UN Security Council have thrown their support behind Ukraine:

That wasn't exactly what Trump said, now was it?

(In fact, I believe that Trump has stocked up gallons of lube for just this eventuality with Putin in mind.)

Bur it is lawful to help independent country when they ask. DNR and LNR are now independent counties according to Russian law. So, same legal grounds as for Emergency Act
You know it isn't the same thing. Did these areas hold a referendum to ask if the citizens wanted to remain part of Ukraine or become independent countries? I don't seem to recall that happening. And were they being persecuted by Ukrainian forces? Was there genocide happening there, as Russia implied? It would be like the Jason Kenny saying Alberta was independent, and the US sent in troops. So, not a legal situation by any measure.

I believe the Minsk agreements called for a referendum to decide on self government status within Ukraine.

Ukraine never held the referendum.

Very accurate dissection of the Present Day Russia / Ukraine Crisis and the Trump cronies involvement in fuelling it!!
Tucker Carlson, Josh Hawley and Donald Trump: Putin’s Dream Team, but America’s Worst Nightmare
A repulsive and depraved trio, Josh Hawley, Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump, are active partners in Putin’s efforts to gaslight the West on Ukraine – and to undermine the United States itself

Satan is of course a genius according to your logic. But when Trump then mentions that the Russians are going to be "Peacekeepers" and the "Strongest Peace Force" how do you now justify that it equates to killing of all those witnesses? Should it justify just killing all those seeking refuge in the USA through that border? I am waiting to hear your explanation to this statement of Trumpty Dumpty. ROTFLMAO!!
So, you are claiming that Satan is dumb? IMHO, he should be pretty smart to rule the underworld. being smart and doing good things are not the same. Do you think Hitler was dumb? He may made a few error that cost him the war but he was smarter than most people in his time.

P.S.: I only support the "Putin is a genius" part of Trump speech :). I hope you agree with it too. Pretty smart move by Putin.

Putin's thinking is 100% illegal as he has no authority over those regions that are not within the confines of Russia. Just his own Autocratic Dictatorship. But once again the Emergency Acts of not only the Federal Government, but also the Provincial ones were 100% Legal as they were passed through the Parliaments and / or within the confines of their official procedures. You are comparing night and day in this resect!!
OK, here is teh secuence of events:

1) Lugansk People's republic and Doneck People's republic declare independence (long tome ago)
2) Russian recognised theiir independence
3) A few minutes after the independence was recognized, LPR and DPR ask for military help from Ruussia
4) A few hours after that the military help was approved by Russian President and Parliament and help was offered.

Now, where exactly the LETTER of the law was violated? And remember about the precedent of recognition of self-declared countries (like Kosovo) in the past. Not supporting Putin (I hate the man and what he stands for) but the plan was pretty smart. And since he did not invade the rest of Ukraine, the USA will do virtually nothing about it.

Does not matter - Russia has a veto power in security council. I think China will abstain.

The West will give him some pain re Donbas, but figures it's a lost cause anyway. The rest of Ukraine is a different thing altogether. And if he tries to take Estonia, it will be WW3. And Russia will lose.

Russia is weaker than NATO. Fighting NATO will end badly for Russia. And then Putin won't be laughing.
How about Kharkiv? Will the West allow Putin to take Kharkiv? How about other parts of Eastern Ukraine?
