Actually, the women in professional tennis don't have to work as hard as the men to receive equal pay. Men's matches are three out of five sets, and women's are two out of three. Men's tennis is also much more aggressive; many points are won on service aces and forced errors resulting from the players using the whole court. Women's tennis is often volleying from the baseline, and hoping that the opponent can't return the ball over the net within the boundary lines.
I don't enjoy watching professional tennis. The referees take too much guff from prima donna players questioning judgement calls. If the refs had had the stones to discipline John McEnroe when he started that, there wouldn't be so many others emulating him. Refs blow calls sometimes, usually an equal number for each player, so they even out. An emotionally mature person accepts the decision of the appointed arbitrator, whether or not they agree with the decision.
