I think the Freedom Convoy may have already accomplished something…

Just pointing to the hypocrisy, in case this wasn’t already brought up:

(To be clear, obviously nothing wrong with the rainbow flag. The point is about hypocrisy.)
it’s equally disgraceful as putting the non-offensive stuff they put on the Terry Fox statue.
Don’t make memorial statues political by putting anything on them.
Some should come down because the person doesn’t deserve to be honoured, but people have no right to destroying property that is not theirs.

but putting nazi paraphernalia (symbol of hate) on the Fox statue is inexcusable and far worse than a rainbow flag (symbol of love) or any other flag. I don’t care if it’s a Spanish flag, British or Leafs’ flag, hands off the statue
And what they did on the war memorials is despicable.

Corporations spread the money between political parties to support the political process
They know political sentiment changes

Corporations also employ "think tanks" left and right to gauge things like economic forecasts, market reviews and product evaluation

Joe Biden got $800K from the oil industry
Do some research & learn something for a change

In recent years, the network has signaled it is moving away from partisan issues and has begun to show support for a handful of Democrats who side with Koch's views on issues such as trade, immigration and overhauling the criminal justice system. In an interview with CNN, top Koch official Emily Seidel said the new focus doesn't mean the group will retreat from politics.

"The people who thought that we may have been backing down from politics are going to be surprised, because the reality is we've been strengthening our capabilities to go bigger than ever before," said Seidel, who is CEO of Americans for Prosperity, the main grassroots and political arm of the sprawling network associated with the Kansas billionaire.

No party of political ideology (Liberal or Conservative) has a monopoly of HYPOCRISY. They both practice it to suit their needs.
I completely agree. But the mainstream media in Canada is essentially all liberal (with the exception of a couple of newspapers). To undermine the trucker’s movement because of a few isolated (and yes, very bad) incidences is just liberal’s propaganda. In the meanwhile, left wing protesters get a free pass on almost anything.

That is false. There is a quite a huge section of the media that leans Conservative. The Sun and National Post are two examples. Most media are centre leaning in Canada. I guess if the media are not mouthpieces of the Conservative party like The Sun and National Post, then they are considered to be "Left" according to your logic!! Then there are the more radical extreme right wing so called media like The Rebel and Post Millennial.

The Trucker's Movement blocking essential traffic is a huge issue. Calling for the PM to step down is outrageous, as there is an alternative called the ballot box. Trudeau only recently was re-elected for the second time. There are swastika imprinted on flags and objects being thrown at reporters. Anyway, most Canadians disagree with the truckers. Period!!

I fixed your post.
Most of Canada's media are a little bit to the right of Canadian views, with CBC being more centred and the Star a bit more to the left.
Compare voting patterns to media.

I know where I stand on those despicable acts that took place in Ottawa over the weekend. I was asking you.
Does it matter? You've already said "despicable acts". I know where you stand and you can see other threads with my posts to see where I stand.

Not trying to get into a back and forth argument, but the Sun and National Post are not TV stations, as I understand. They are newspapers (although digital and with websites).

As for the bias of the media, I used to think like you. Until I paid more attention. The vast majority of Canadian media are really essentially left wing propaganda machines. You can see this from what they choose to cover and how they cover it. I think you’re right that a lot of them used to be centre/centre-left, but today unfortunately there is essentially no media in the centre. They are all heavily biased, either left or right wing leaning.

As for the Convoy, it’s fair to make the objections you made. But before the Convoy got to Ottawa, the media was trying so hard for a few days to portray them as a bunch of dangerous far right extremists. You might like their movement or not, you might think they should stop their protest because they are creating disruption in traffic or not; but the narrative that they were a bunch of far right extremists was completely false.

Cheers.

Firstly, you shouldn’t change people’s posts when you quote them.

Secondly, you are absolutely right, CBC is bullseye in the centre. I wonder how much outrage we will see from them for this:

Wasn't the JT blackface incident about 30 years ago?

Shouldn't the Tories in the House be doing something a little more useful than dealing with stuff from 30 years ago?.... Shouldn't they be working out how to stop the Omicronvoy bullies from harassing older women in downtown Ottawa?

Sorry to try to make your post seem less biased.
I had no idea that would be so offensive to you.

What other media in Canada has an ombudsman to watch for bias, someone you can complain to directly?

I guess Sleepy Joe & the lunatics like AOC & Ilhan Omar alarmed them
I can not say that is surprising

I doubt it. Pure self interest. Hedging bets when you are going to lose the WH and and Senate. You don’t think Manchin just became a Democratic obstructionist on principle do you?
