And here's a song exactly about that by the Band."Acadia" was an early term for what are now Canada's maritime provinces. In my understanding, many French Acadians who were expelled ended up in another French colony at the time, Louisiana, and the term "Acadian" evolved into "Cajun". Interesting that a wonderful Cajun culture ( food, music etc.) evolved, at least in part, from those early French settlers in Canada.
That video has to bring a tear to your eye.Historica Canada did a Heritage minute about that.

Can't mention Sawchuk without also mentioning Glenn Hall (now 90). It's amazing that the Red Wings had both Sawchuk and Hall in their system at the same time. What's also amazing is that the Black Hawks acquired two HOF goalies (Hall and Esposito) who were developed in another team's system.Their goalie was Terry Sawchuk, a Ukrainian from Winnipeg. Known to be the most miserable prick in hockey.
Yes you can see a little mix in her features. A true Danish female is quite more fair skinned, blonder? hair and lighter blue eyes. Very similar to my Danish daughter-in-law who just had dinner with us this evening."Sweet Caroline" one of my favourite tennis players (now retired).
"Caroline Wozniacki is a Danish professional tennis player. She was born in Odense, Denmark, to Polish parents, Anna Stefaniak and Piotr."

They have different alphabets.Hey Eddie, are the spoken Ukrainian and Polish languages the same or fairly close?
I am not the person to ask as my parents both being Ukrainian but born in Canada moved to Toronto when I was very young and were the first of their many siblings to do so. They basically spoke English at home. I learned Ukrainian by visiting my grandparents, aunts and uncles in Sask. many times and my mother sent me to Ukrainian school in Toronto on weekends which I hated. The languages are both Slavic but different but many words are similar . I read that Ukrainian and Russian were more similar.Hey Eddie, are the spoken Ukrainian and Polish languages the same or fairly close?
No problem. I was just curious. That Ukrainian/Polish girl/woman I met many many years ago would switch to a foreign language when it was obvious she was pissed at something. I never understood a word she said (which might have been a good thing, LOL).The languages are both Slavic but different but many words are similar .
