The "system" as it were, is to draft good players, develop them, make good trades, find a hot goalie and a reliable backup, win the draft lottery, hope they becomes a star, hire a good coaching staff then hope the team gels and wins a cup before your star contracts are up. There's your system, only there's 31 other teams trying to do the same thing, all under a salary cap. It's pretty difficult if you haven't noticed. But I'm sure if you were in charge, you'd win a cup in just a couple years.
That's the Tampa Bay Lightning system...

Very impressive showing tonight by the leafs. A total team victory…Go Leafs Go!!!
Johansson was just ludicrous in the 3rd. I've seen better 10 year old goalies in street hockey pick-up games.

Sure but Kadri, what about Kadri, 2 more goals tonight.
You can come back and quote this in April when he gets suspended again.

Hyman--2 points in his last 5 games. 1 goal
Andersen--.907 save percentage in his last 5 games
I'm surprised you didn't bring up Leafs first 5 games.
Come on man, we all know what 5 games means.
My point was they're looking good.
They're still looking good.
Hyman 9 goals in 20 games and he scored another tonight in the 1st period so that's 10 and
Andersen has a GAA of 2.04 and SV% of .928 in 16 games. Those are fantastic stats.

Can't argue with what you say. I was wondering out loud if those paces are sustainable.

Of course they are not sustainable. There's no way Hyman gets a 50 plus goal season. Matthews hasn't even done it yet.

Colorado is an offensive juggernaught. Probably the best offensive team in the league.
It's a shame Kuemper was injured. Would have liked to see how the Leafs would do full strength vs full strength.
Two hot teams going in. Great offensive team in Colorado vs a very good defensive Leafs team this year.
Next up is the Wild. They're Division leaders.

Weren't there guys predicting Leafs would sink without Hyman in the line-up? Seems like Bunting is doing just fine.

Maybe Matthews and Marner actually WERE the key talent components on that top line after all.

Interesting pattern in the Leafs last 17 games. 5 wins in a row. Loss. 5 wins in a row. Loss. 5 wins in a row.
So the pattern says they will lose in Minny on Saturday.
Are we going to now call this the Toronto system of winning?(See previous posts)

Patterns aren't carved in stone. That's why people lose bets. ;)

While I would've liked to see them play Colorado with Kuemper, Leafs played another solid game yet again.
