Sounds too logical for the NHL. Rule should have been changed already by now.

Nobody wants that. Plus, the Leafs buried Stephen Robidas on the LTIR for two seasons or so, saving a bunch of cap space...Plus Nathan Horton and others. Also, it looks like Kucherov is legit hurt. Having him go out a few games into the season doesn't make a lot of sense in keeping the core, since they had to trade or not sign a bunch in the summer.
