Even though I despise the Yankees, Chapman is one of my favourite MLB pitchers of alltime.
But this year his max has been 100.9mph according to Savant. His average has been around 98.6:

The Oracle rests his case........

For fuck sakes, we win 8 in a row and still 2.5 games behind WC spot
The gaps are narrowing. They are chasing other good teams who are fighting just as hard and winning more than losing. The Jays cannot afford a slump. A 4 or 5 game losing streak would probably be a killer.

I can't see it with this team. Best offense in baseball and we throw 5 good starters at you every 5 days.

Stripling placed on 10 day IL, if he's placed on 60 day IL, they are done for season.
I don't like Matz as a starter tooo inconsistent.

I'm much more confident in our starters now than I was at the start of the season. Ryu, Berrios, Ray, Manoah and Matz is pretty damn solid. I don't think Stripling will go on 60 day IL, its an oblique strain. Problem with Ross is he's constantly getting injured and its frustrating because he has been pitching quite well over the past 2 months.

Did you just seriously put the whole season on whether Stripling goes on the IL? lol
Ya, he has been awesome ever since he tweaked his delivery, except for that one start when he wasn't mentally in the game.

Also, Ryu has been inconsistent lately , that's what worries me. They need to win as many games as possible.

Did Charlie Montoya cause Vlady's current slump?

He was bound to cool off somewhat, it seemed to me that Charlie was wasting him by batting him second. He's just not that motivated when the opportunities to drive in runs isn't there - especially with Springer going on a tear.

He was moved to 3rd in the order last night and went 0/4.

We need to appreciate how awesome this lineup is. Take the Angels for example. What a mess they are, but that's more typical of the average MLB lineup. Grichuk and Gurriel who don't even play everyday could bat 3 and 4 for half the teams in baseball.

Hopefully down the stretch, Jays will become the Gretzky Edmonton Oilers, who cares if you allow 7 runs per game when you score 10!!

I hardly think that Stripling is the lynchpin of this team and they'd collapse without him.

Matz was most likely going to be the 5th starter anyways. The talk was that Stripling was more suited to the 'pen than Matz.

One of the more ridiculous posts I've seen in this thread in a while...lol.

The season is over because our non-solidified 5th starter that could be out for 60 days...lol.

I don't think Eddie was saying that at all.

I think his point is that Stripling is not a make it or break it cog in their chances.

But I've read where they have reworked his mechanics and the general consensus is that he was tipping his pitches before and isn't now.

The results have definitely been showing for him. Pete Walker at his best. Just a great pitching coach for your Jays.
