Nick Roy is French Canadian that must hurt for Habs fans. Something about the name "Roy" that doesn't feel good for Habs fans. Is there a Roy curse?

Heart and hustle and world class goaltending - not a bad system.
This is exactly what it is, magic is in the air. Nothing is stopping these guys. Special shout out to TML for giving them the confidence of not being beaten! 😡

the combination of veterans and youth, a good system. 4 lines that are all working the big 4 on defence, and of course carey price, and luke richardson coaching, amazing game last night, their best game yet, lets wrap it up at home on thursday, go habs go.

The "Montreal System" at its best. This time without Dryden, Robinson, Savard, Lapointe, Lafleur, Lemaire, Cournoyer, Gainey, Shutt, Ferguson, etc.

Guys, one game at a time. Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Win or lose, this team has exceeded all expectations. To quote an old Irish proverb: "They are punching way above their weight".

On a sad note, heard that former Canadien defenseman Tom Kurvers has passed. Rest in peace.

Hey Philip, glad you decided to make an appearance in this thread. Even though you are a loyal Leaf fans, I always found your posts intelligent, rational, objective and civil.

BTW: I remember you were so disappointed with the Leafs last year when they were beaten by Columbus and failed to make the playoffs and now not getting past Round one this year..

I certainly don't plan to get too far ahead of myself and I agree the Hab's have obviously exceed all expectations (although I do believe the time has come to give them some credit for their success and not say that they have just been "lucky")

I am going to continue to believe that the Hab's will lose every playoff series this year - that approach has worked out just fine for me so far.

vs Leafs huge underdogs. 1 OT goal away from being ousted, twice. Took 7 games.
vs Vegas huge underdogs. Should win this in 6.
vs TB huge underdogs. Defending champs. Have a free Kucherov that circumvented the cap. Mon will probably win this in 5.

You know, I've been putting some thought into this for the past few days....

Is it possible that the Toronto Maple Leafs are the 2nd best team in the NHL?
They took the juggernaut Montreal Canadiens to 7 games, a couple of overtimes involved.
Since Montreal crushed the plucky Maple Leafs, they have swept the Winnipeg Jets, and are poised to take down the vaunted Vegas Golden Knights in 6.
Carey Price missed a fair portion of the regular season due to injury.
Had CP31 been healthy, Montreal could've been a close 2nd to Toronto in the division, possibly have won it.

It seems the Scotia North may not be such a weak division after all.

You forget they got lucky against the Leafs.
