James Fields' killing in Charlottesville, the Arbery killing and maybe now this one.

The guy was wearing a helmet and bullet proof vest and told a taxi driver to call the cops on him. Sounds like he was admitting that he killed that family on the spot.A few things didn’t make sense. First of all how did the police know he targeted muslims ? A Muslim can have any colour of skin and not only Muslim’s wear turbans and hijabs. I thought initially the kid targeted them because of the colour of their skin but PC culture decided that it was more prudent to base it on their faith. What’s more troubling is the speed to which the police released their assumptions. Who made this call and what evidence do they have to support their stance? This is probably the most damning allegation that you can make against someone so why were the police so quick to release the motive before it was thoroughly investigated ? From what I have heard nobody that knew the guy said they have ever seen or heard anything hateful coming from him against muslims or any other race or group. If he was posting hate speech online, why haven’t the police released it? I think this may be gross incompetence by the police which lead to a national embarrassment that will not be forgotten for a very long time. News today is by the minute so false judgements are far more likely and racism is perhaps the most important issue in North America today. Police are trained to asses a situation and draw conclusions very quickly to determine who the bad guy is. They may have made a serious error of self confirming bias
The police may not be obliged, without direction from their police board, to disclose anything about this investigation or arrest, but in this case they chose to speak to the press about some of their conclusions. And that choice has created a furor stretching across the country. Since we can't just trust the police to get these things right, it would be responsible for them to assure the public that there is a reliable basis for their conclusions. What obligation are police under to tell you anything?
Are you saying this was some random accident? Yes or no?
Police give partial evidence ALL the time. It is like standard practice. The public doesn’t need to know everything and sometimes there are good reasons to hold info back from the public. The police may not be obliged, without direction from their police board, to disclose anything about this investigation or arrest, but in this case they chose to speak to the press about some of their conclusions. As to your question, you are kind of missing the point. No one, including you or I, should be reaching any conclusions about what happened before evidence (not conclusions) about it has been shared with the public.

Apparently he had no social media presence and no reported mental health issues.
Given the Islamaphobic posts on this board and in this country, and after the 2017 Quebec shooting, why does this 'not make sense' to you?
True. That's why it would be better if they had a practice of NEVER sharing information about their investigations (subject to investigations into their own conduct). However, when they choose to provide information, they should be prepared to provide some basis for their conclusions.Police give partial evidence ALL the time. It is like standard practice. Let's put that to the test. What do you actually KNOW about this event? I would say that you know people were killed by a truck that struck them on the sidewalk near an intersection. You know that the driver was arrested a few blocks away from the scene without incident. You know the victims were identifiable as racial minorities. You don't KNOW anything else. Without more, you don't know enough to conclude whether this act was motivated by racial bigotry, or whether it represents an act of terrorism. We can make a conclusion based on the current facts presented. You are choosing to not believe them and by doing that are actually making a conclusion yourself.
I trust the police to TRY to do their jobs correctly, at least in most circumstances. I don't trust the police to always get it right, and the more sophisticated the analysis required, the less I trust them. When political pressure is brought to bear, I don't trust their judgements at all. To be a policeman, you have to believe in authority, and that includes the authority of the politicians you answer to.But whatever, keep pretending you are not. Remember. YOU don’t trust police, that doesn’t mean anything in the big picture
It really was a disgusting and horrible act.I saw a video where the cab driver was saying the db told him to record him being arrested with his phone. He also told the cabi to call the cops bc he just killed some people.
When the cops arrived to arrest him he was laughing.
Strathroy cops said there were incidents between 2016 and 2020 appx 16 but no criminal record.

The entire crash site where four members of the same Muslim family were killed was captured on this surveillance camera at Peavy Mart across from the intersection.
So gut-wrenching. Makes me sick.
This nurse arrived on the scene before the paramedics and police did.Her account of the scene is so nightmarish.

GRAPHIC LANGUAGE WARNING: Miranda Campbell and her family were driving home Sunday night when they pulled up to a line of cars stopped at a green light.london.ctvnews.ca
Whichever one is true, the police were very reckless to conclude a motive that quick. A is what the police reported as the motive. The fact that he was not armed and voluntarily gave himself up makes this seem unlikely. I would consider B to be the most likely of the three

Do you ever actually read what anyone else posts, or are you just trolling 100% of the time?I am glad that Dutch and the other right wingers have come clean and stated that we cannot trust the Police. Then we don't have to read their posts next time a policeman shoots an unarmed black kid.
We do know that the perp told a cab driver to call the cops on himself, spouted 'slogans', may have had swastikas on his shirt and told the cab driver to videotape him.Let's put that to the test. That’s rich Frankie you support and defend a Designated Terrorist organization hamasIt really was a disgusting and horrible act.
I'm also disgusted by the multiple posters on this board who keep trying demonize, justify or just deny that this kind of racism exists and can result in this kind of act.
Nice try Frank no facts, so what slogans did he shout? no one has said or knowsWe do know that the perp told a cab driver to call the cops on himself, spouted 'slogans', may have had swastikas on his shirt and told the cab driver to videotape him.
