Very impressive debut by the youngster. I noticed something about Alek Manoah that will serve him well in The Show, "he's loose like a long necked goose". Very different from Nate Pearson who gets flustered when he walks a batter.

Somebody buy Jordan Romano a kimono, he eats opposing batters like sushi. Vic Romano would be proud.

Manoah's fastball tops out at 96mph. Thats good, but not great.
Its the movement on his FB thats amazing. Yankees werent picking up the ball well at all.
And his changeup is just as good. Has a nice tailing action on it.
Slider's good too.

Great start. Lets sweep those dreaded Wankees now

As a Yankee fan I was watching the Yankee broadcast and David cone was very impressed.

Like you said he has great life on the three different fastballs he throws.

His change is supposed to be his third option but even that looked like a plus pitch too me.

Yankees outside of Judge, Urshela and D.J. LeMahieu are literally not hitting their weight this year. Well Stanton was until he got injured again.

The big concern on the broadcast is why chapman didn't close tonight in the 2nd game. He was well rested so something is amiss in the big apple.

Jays need Nate Pearson to make his mark in the majors.......

Some things just don't change. The AL East is consistently the strongest division in baseball.

AL East is currently 16 games over .500

Next best is NL West at 8 games over.

Every other division is under .500

if pearson makes it then we got two lefties and two righties with slow and hard throwers

potential killer staff because it keeps other teams on their heals

Guaranteed 1st ballot HoFer if he keeps that up. LOL.
first player from the 2019 draft to make it to the show

he has the right personality as nothing upsets him

walked first batter on 4 pitches then he settled in for a dynamic performance

i predicted that in was manoha not pearson that was the impact pitcher to be called up

because pearson needs to learn control

manoha does not

And the Knuckle Ball?....
good point, LOL, but totally different pitch

knuckleball works on different principle of physics

no spin at all causes ball to change low pressure variations like a aircraft wing and ball will fall towards the low pressure

fast spin rate does same thing actually, now that you made me think of it, but in a different way

it is all science

cheers

Pearson needs to control his emotions on the mound also , gets flustered too easily.

Those were some brutal conditions that the Jays played in last night.

Game time is 4:00 PM today which should lead in nicely to the Leafs' game.
