Vlady defense is becoming stellar, he has real game sense at 1st.

Last night he blocked a potential XBH and protected his pitcher at the same time. The chances of getting the base-runner out were slim but he knew enough not to toss the ball to Ryu. The Korean pitcher would most certainly have collided with the base-runner if Vlady didn't try to make the out himself. As Woody Harrelson says, "sometime you have to enjoy the little things".

We don't need anymore stinkin injuries - especially Ryu!

Is The Urinating Tree from Toronto? I asked him if he knew who the attractive girl with the birthmark next to Alek's Mom was - no reply yet.

This is a Blue Jays clip, not The Urinating Tree...I fucking hate Rougned Odor.

first player from the 2019 draft to make it to the show

he has the right personality as nothing upsets him

walked first batter on 4 pitches then he settled in for a dynamic performance

i predicted that in was manoha not pearson that was the impact pitcher to be called up

because pearson needs to learn control

manoha does not
they both had similar good walk rates in the minors.

That girl is Alek's mom's daughter, not sure if she is Alek's bio sister, as his mom has remarried after his father's death.

She looks like a young Justine Bateman.

He could have gotten the base runner at first:
Vladdy hesitated as he looked up to see Ryu not close to the bag as he expected him to be there.. He should have charged the bag as soon as he got the ball (in this scenario, he can see if Ryu was close or not, if Ryu was close he could flip ball to him, in this case, with Ryu not close, he would have beaten the runner with the slide)

With Ryu being a slow runner and a lefty -he falls to 3rd base side after throwing pitch , there is no way Ryu will be at bag in time, with more experience Vladdy will learn not to make this mental error again.

The Jays are rapidly approaching a fork in the road, underscored by their over-all record on natural turf.

If they want to keep Vlady, Bo, Ryu and the prospects they got in the Stroman deal, they have to get their plans together for a new ballpark. The Jays are not the Rays, they can't sustain what their building by continuing to play in a dilapidated stadium. The future is now.

The Shapeyero Regime has come under fire in the past. We have to give them credit for building up the farm system. Toronto deserves a Camden Yard of their own.

Has this already been built?

Double Header today at 1pm, Stripling and Matz. Hope Strips maintains his form from last start.

Poor Rowdy!

He hits a dinger then gets sunflower seeds thrown at him and the silent treatment. He's just starting to knock the cowhide of the ball.

Earlier this season, he baptized a follically challenged man - hopefully he can do the same for me.

I have never seen such a poor job of managing in baseball than watching Montoya keep Crapwood in for four consecutive walks.

Montoya should be fired for such incompetence.

Montoyo should have let Stripling pitch the 6th inning in game #1, he was cruising along, that would have allowed Romano or Dolis to be availabe in game 2, they would have shut down the Indians in the 7th.

You know you’re making questionable decisions when mild-mannered Buck Martinez is second guessing them almost every game now. Montoyo seems to have too quick a hook when his pitcher is going well, and too slow a hook when his pitcher can’t find the plate.

I said the exact same thing in another forum. Especially since Chatwood did the exact same thing his last outing vs Tampa. He basically should have had someone warming up as soon as Chatwood took the mound. He should be fired no question. Not just for this, but he's dumb a number of dumb things.

Since he's likeable and hasn't had any home games, I've been reluctant to criticize Montoyo.

He's wasted his bullpen when the starters were still relatively fresh, this led to the meltdown against the Rays. I didn't watch the second game of the doubleheader. Last I checked Matz was cruising with a 4-0 lead, what happened. Chatwood has been effective at times, other times he's looked like Joey McLaughlin. It doesn't help that two of their FA acquisitions (Springer, Hatch) haven't seen much action.

Espinal made an error fielding a ball that should have been a double play that led to Indians come back

Wait a minute that's the same Crapwood that looked like the second coming of Dennis Eckersley earlier in the season. Which wasn't that long ago...Now he's crap?

I forget the exact stats but he had a 0.53 ERA through his 1st 16 appearances or so. TBH, the last two outings were not just bad, they were absolutely atrocious, especially yesterday. 21 pitches, 16 were balls and most were not even close. It's a Jekyll and Hyde.

I don't understand why he didn't pull him after the second walk and have someone else come. Arghh! Have 2 pitchers warming up ALWAYS!

I remember the Jekyll against the Yankees....His stuff was nasty and his control was impeccable. He was jus plain unhittable.

David Cone and Paul O'Neil doing the game were just marveling over his outing.

I guess his mechanics are off or maybe he's fatigued. I heard the other day that the Jays starters are near the bottom of the league with total innings right now.

Not a recipe for success.
