Instead of sitting games, I think that Keefe is reducing Matthews' and Marners' ice time by maybe 3-5 minutes each game.
I think the Leafs deserve a good beating by the Habs, to wake up the Leafs, their PP sucks, if the Leafs lose tonight it will be because of the PP.

How are Habs fans doing? Feeling a little bit nervous? I say clinch tonight. McDavid and Draisaitl haven't played well at the Bell centre.

The last time the Habs won the Stanley cup they had 13 quebec players on the team. Serge Savard was wise and knew that in Montreal you need a lot of Quebec born player. Since him all manager took the guy that seems to be the best... They ignored the pride our 'difference' could bring to the whole team.
I do not want to bring a race debate. This is sport. Sport is about pride. Pride is about who you are. Put half the Habs team to quebec born player and they will be much better collectively

True. But there is pressure if you one of the 2-3 quebeccer on the team. The pressure becomes positive if you are 10-12 on the team

Building a team around Quebec born players right now due to the lack of talent would be extremely difficult.
In terms of stars, perhaps I am missing some, but the only one that pops to my head right now is Jonathan Huberdeau... one of the most underappreciated players in the league.
Patrice Bergeron is for me the most important quebec player. Followed by Kris Letang.
I like Chabot in Ottawa. Lafrenière will be a star. Fleury in goals. Perron is surprising. Looking at the quebec players it could still make sense. There is enough talent

A strategy like this could only work if the pool for selection is wide and If there is a constant supply of strong Quebec draft classes, free agents and those available in trade. But when the pool is small like today the only way to get enough of them is through making really lopsided trades that deplete all your resources. Could you get Bergeron, Chabot and Lafreniere? Absolutely. Do you want to give up your next 10 first rounders however? Then how are you going to build your team? You need a steady flow of Quebec draft prospects and that has not been the case for the past 10 years.
The building of the 1993 team was not that great. The 1989 team was a greatly built team and the best Canadiens team of that era and it slowly got worse each year through some bad moves. It was still good enough to win in 1993 but the decline which started before that, continued after that to the point that Roy was not happy.
What was one of the worst moves leading up to 1993. Trading Chris Chelios for Denis Savard. Maybe if stupid moves like that don’t get done Roy does not get dissatisfied and the Canadiens have 2 core hall of fame pieces throughout the 90s instead of well... none.
