Great win yesterday, lets Go Jays. Its fun watching these guys.
A little reminiscent of the Jays team leading up to their '85 division winning team. Young and enthusiastic and learning how to win after being losers for a while.

So true and that '85 memory is forever embedded in my mind. Awesome time.

Of course the 85 Jays we're cool, but nothing tops the 92-93 editions and Tom Cheeks legendary call. There were some humorous moments as well, like George Brett's hemorrhoids. He nearly passed out when Dave Winfield pinched him.

The Jays fought back but Vlady isn't seasoned enough to win the game on his own. Monstrous home run though, probably farther than the one Rowdy hit off the TD sign at Sahlen Field.

Btw Craig Biggio needs to show up and spend some quality time with his son. Cavan is losing focus.

So how many pitchers are out now? Romano and Merryweather who were replacing the injured Yates for the late innings are now themselves injured. Stripling got pulled yesterday as well.

Not sure how Biggio's hand is feeling today and Springer's not quite ready yet and Teoscar is still out. It's so contagious that even Auston Matthews missed last night's game.

Just bad luck with the Jays with all these injuries piling up. Almost came back though yesterday - they def can hit.

What I love about Brian Cashman's style is that he will give anyone a chance and isn't afraid of reclamation projects. Aaron hicks, luke Voit and Mike Tauchman come to mind.
I'll add Gio Urshela and now Roughned Odor. The jury is still out on the latter.

I must have missed it, Rogers has announced that they are tearing down the ex-Skydome. The logic is simple, cost analysis on a plumbing system proved prohibitive and an upgrade on the roof worse. Also, Ontario Place is rusting away, maybe what I heard back in 10/2016 will become reality.

In other news, Sid hasn't lost it.

As George Takei says, Om My! Vlady got his balls busted, Carlos Santana bopped him on the helmet then slapped him in the nuts. When Vlady slapped Aaron Judge in the nuts, he did it with his glove hand.

Nice to see Jonathan Davis hit his first home run. He's been a selfless soldier for the Jays, doing what's required. As the Jays best fielder and base stealing threat he could be very valuable if he hits consistently. Prior to this year, I didn't know who Steve Matz was. He pitches like a White Sox Mark Buerhle and looks like, what fans consider, the best Dr Who: David Tennant. The way he's pitching, he deserves a theme song.

From Dan Shulman:

Here's one you didn't think you'd see, especially given all the injuries to the pitching staff, the Blue Jays lead the AL in ERA, at 3.12. BB% way down from last year, GB% way up. Next few weeks seem huge, till they hopefully get some guys back off the IL.

I'd say that it's interesting, more so than important. Nothing will be determined in the standings or established in terms of dominance or being able to conclude who is a better team.

Having said that, my eyes will be glued to the set.

Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo married his first wife, Dana Espinosa, at home plate while playing for the El Paso Diablos, (AA, Brewers), in 1990. There's a picture of the couple on page 57 of the April, 1991 issue of National Geographic magazine, part of the cover story "A Season in the Minors".

The Jays batters were colder than a frostbitten tit in January...she isn't.

When Springer and Hernandez are off IL, who will be odd outfielder out?

I say it should be Gurriel Jr., he's doing fuck all at the plate, and misreading balls in left field.

Grichuk is having a decent season at plate, before season started it was assumed Grichuk would be the benchwarmer.

I say trade Gurriel for a decent pitcher.

Way too early in the season to make that decision. Gurriel was excellent at the plate last year. I see the 4 OF's rotating with every 4th day 1 of them DH-ing.
