p.s. texas' covid rate has been decreasing since mid-January. I'm sure that phil is saying that decrease happened because two months later Texas stopped mandating masks
LOL....thanks for proving my point. When mask laws were relaxed case count shouldve gone up again, except it didnt

New York also has 25% immunized, and yet their numbers have stayed about the same.
AFAIK they also still have their mask law in effect

Not valid. they are on different time frames. Their peaks and valleys were never coinciding.

Remember when New York was the shithole of the nation. Then they got it under control and other states became the shitholes.

This is a discussion of Texas unto itself.

Okay, so lets focus on Texas then. The best indicator whether infections are going down arent just the total numbers, but also the infection rate. Texas has gone down in those as well. Relaxing mask laws clearly had no impact:

The states that take the victory lap for controlling COVID often have to walk that back when infections go on the rise again...but it shows how difficult it is to defend itself from COVID and their efforts to figure it out...as Texas showed, no mask mandate and 100% open if they desire and cases go down, huh...go figure.

It's called suppression of real data. The Repugs wrote the handbook on manipulation of the gullible.

The planet is still relatively early in this pandemic. There will be spikes and recoveries for a while yet. The fact the a “micro climate” like Texas may currently be experiencing a decline in cases means little as their numbers will likely soon go back up with the new wave of variants. It is still unknown how long the current vaccines will continue to offer protection. Increased human contact means increased positive transmissions and ultimately Darwinism will have the last say, not political spin.

They increased SLIGHTLY over the last week or so. But you are cherry picking 1 week as opposed to looking at the last 35 days.
Thats too small of a sample size. Lets see what the next 4 weeks brings

Agreed, we will reconvene once updated data is tabulated.
We should monitor week by week as well.
See you next Tuesday or Wednesday when the next weekly report is released.

Using the most recent data is not cherry picking. It is current.

You liked pointing out single day highs in Ontario and laughed about it. But when the numbers are against you it is cherry picking.

BTW, what would account for the numbers going up?

Not if its a very small sample size

Those single day highs were part of a much larger sample size
BTW, what would account for the numbers going up?
If the numbers do go up, can I use your excuse that "other factors" beside non-use of masks are the driving cause?? 😂

Oh and what happened to your previous argument that vaccines were the factor cases kept going down, how can they now go up again if vaccines work so well??

Phil starts skating down the ice, picks up speed, attempts to spin around and stickhandle through Shack, OH NO, Shack poke checks the puck and Squeezer quickly picks it up and skates in the opposite direction passes to Basketcase, drop passes to Lenny! LENNY winds up and goes for the slap shot, HOLY MCNASTY PeteOsborne deflects it past a meandering CanadaMan who is left dazed and on his ass in the net.

Article contains data from 234 counties that reported of 254 counties in Texas.
That is roughly 93% of the counties representing approximately 26,040,000 people.
Hardly a small sample size
No, I'm talking about the timeline sample

But its the only goal Shack/Squeezer/Basketcase/Lenny/Osborne score all game, and they still lose 10-1 😂
