  • Covid vaccinations are not the only reason U.S. coronavirus cases keep falling, Dr. Scott Gottlieb told CNBC on Friday.
  • Other factors include warming weather, cautious behavior and the fact that a portion of unvaccinated Americans have been previously infected, according to the former FDA chief.
  • “I think we’re going to have a very quiet summer with respect to coronavirus spread and then have to contend with it again as we head into the winter,” Gottlieb said.

Lol. I’ve loved all these stats thrown around during COVID. Let’s face it. If it wasn’t for the media, 99% of the population would not know COVID exists.

Covid-19 in other parts of the world like India, Brazil and even Canada seems to not be deterred by the hot weather obviously so I am not sure what De Gottlieb is talking about ? Originally it was thought that Covid-19 being a respiratory virus would follow patterns analogous to the annual flu season in North America which seems to have been painfully disproved.
This Is a global pandemic and not over until it is eradicated everywhere, not just America. Hopefully America continuous to see declining numbers but quite possibly new more virulent, current vaccine resistant strains will work themselves through countries that have had high double vaccine rates to date.

The article didn't offer an explanation for his statement. Flu tends to be more of a problem in winter than summer. With covid19 it is thought being outdoors, which is more likely in summer than winter, is like 20X safer re infection than being in an indoor poorly ventilated area.

Of course the dry air and indoor time would be factors here compared to the ample outdoor space we have in summer.

Of course India has a few more people in a little smaller territory.

That's what happens when the covid deniers AKA righties AKA tDSers have their collective heads buries so far up trump's ass they have zero idea about what is really happening in the world.
