So in Texas they are having a maskless merry old time.

I'll say this, the owner of my local deli is extremely pissed. Now if the contagion doesn't subside after another lock-down, people are going to get surly. At least DoFo is keeping developer's working.

There must be some explanation for that graphic. De-masking can only INCREASE transmission.

So vaccination rates?..... The US is FAR ahead of Canada in vaccination.

Simply herd immunity from the MASSIVE infection rates earlier this year? While the graphic looks innocuous, TX was registering THIRTY THOUSAND cases a day in January. That's TEN TIMES peak ON rate in a jurisdiction that has 2x ON's population.

Concealing cases?

These are the crazy totals..... TX has a confirmed 10% infection rate from COVID. I'm guessing 5x (?) that # of people didn't report because they were asymptomatic, thought they had a slight cold, or decided to "tough it out".

Texas

Coronavirus Cases:

2,807,122

Deaths:
48,933

Recovered:

Jays looking good after yesterday. Pitching has been solid after 4 games, very early I know, but looks good.

Steven Matz was amazing yesterday.

It's early but, Jay's ERA is ranked 6th in MLB.

I think that I heard them say yesterday that his contract is for $12M.
He's in the 2nd year of a 2 year $24Mm deal.
Sometimes, a team just has to eat the money, and move on.
They're only paying $4Mm to Tulowitzki, so what the heck, right?
It is one start, and he was the victim of some poor fielding last night, but....this is a continuation of last year.
I would hope the resident brain trust has him on a short leash.

How inexact a science is the MLB draft?
In 2009 the Angels drafted Mike Trout 25th!! overall.
Drafted 24th overall? Randal Grichuk, by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

I don't follow MLB and the Jays as closely as I should.

Is George Springer the guy we're paying $150mm? Did Houston know something we don't? Did any other team offer him a contract?
