Great point. That's what I like Willy the most. It's easier to be hard sometimes is even harder for being soft in hockey or basketball or any sports in general. Very special hands! Mighty Ducks movement! And Jack Campbell is even better.
Probably Jack's least artistic performance of the season, but still solid, held the Leafs in the game.
Willy Styles floated a 2 point performance last night, including a soft goal to tie the game 3-3.
Puck. Luck.So many shots hitting posts over the last 5 or 6 games.
So many shots hitting posts over the last 5 or 6 games.
What's not luck is that I think the Leafs, too often, are making that one extra pass. I think they must have done that 5 or 6 times last night. Someone had a clear shot with someone else in front or moving to the net for a possible rebound but elected to try for the perfect pass through traffic. I know these guys are talented but they are not the '72 Soviets.Puck. Luck.
Hey William, over the past two seasons, who would you pick over these guys going into the playoffs: Scheifele, Panarin, Marchand, Ehlers, Eichel, Pettersson, Laine, Rantanen, Barkov, Huberdeau, Svechnikov, Malkin, Boeser, Forsberg, the Tkachuks, Wheeler, Gaudreau, Barzal, Giroux, Couturier, Crosby, Kopitar?Hey William, over the past two seasons, who's scored more goals than: Scheifele, Panarin, Marchand, Ehlers, Eichel, Pettersson, Laine, Rantanen, Barkov, Huberdeau, Svechnikov, Malkin, Boeser, Forsberg, the Tkachuks, Wheeler, Gaudreau, Barzal, Giroux, Couturier, Crosby, Kopitar?

Their last 11 games the Leafs have only 1 win in regulation time so I wouldn't buy that crap.I'm waiting for Glam to chime in with easy 2 pts.
After George made his announcement that Hutch was in net I was referring to that will result in 2 easy pts for Edm and I was right and so would have Glam if he made his patented prediction.Their last 11 games the Leafs have only 1 win in regulation time so I wouldn't buy that crap.
I’ll take your word for it but I’d probably trade Nylander for any player on that list.Hey William, over the past two seasons, who's scored more goals than: Scheifele, Panarin, Marchand, Ehlers, Eichel, Pettersson, Laine, Rantanen, Barkov, Huberdeau, Svechnikov, Malkin, Boeser, Forsberg, the Tkachuks, Wheeler, Gaudreau, Barzal, Giroux, Couturier, Crosby, Kopitar?

It's so hard to referee...the game is moving so fast and even the small players look big, when you're closer to ice level the game looks so much different than it does on TV.I heard that referee Tom Peel got scapegoated. The fact is the quality of officiating in the NHL has declined considerably.
The Oilers were allowed to get away with a number of cheap shots. The head hunt on Jake Muzzin, he avoided it in the nick of time but appeared to tweak his back. Yamamoto cross-checking Marner into the boards - no called. And then the charging on Tavares...oops he didn't leave his feet.
I don't care that Bryan McGratten hasn't played for a number of years, bring him up!
Keep in mind that it really hasn't been that long since they started using 2 refs. So relatively speaking, I don't think that the job is really that much tougher from what it used to be with just 1 ref responsible for the whole ice. It's so hard to referee...the game is moving so fast and even the small players look big, when you're closer to ice level the game looks so much different than it does on TV.
Also, the players could get an Academy award after they've been hit...they feel a little pressure along the boards and they launch themselves into the boards to draw a penalty...they get hit high and they grab their face...a big hit and they lie there a little longer...goalies always embellish from the slightest bump...big, strong players seem to go down pretty easy at times... there is a lot of diving, faking and acting out there and it's difficult for the referee to be fair when that's going on.
