Ok this has to stop now, falling behind early and playing catch up for 60 min. Cmon boys - lets turn this ship around.

They were tied for about 10 minutes. Problem is that they couldn't hold the tie and build on that to win the game.

Bottom line - How much of that game was Andersen letting in soft goals? I didn't see any goals which were genuinely "soft", but it certainly wasn't vintage, game-stealing Andersen.

And what's happened to the Leafs' finishing? Yet another game where they dominate play, but cannot put the goal in the net consistently.

Getting drunk and trying to kiss Suzy Kolber....?
....while in a fur coat. George, you know me too well as I was thinking that while posting.

No, nothing that creepy. I'm guaranteeing a win for the boys in blue (or green) tonight, i.e. the Leafs.

..... you seem to think it would be a good deal for Ottawa to trade your leading scorer and best player for him,
Personally, I wouldn't trade Nylander for Tkachuk straight up.

But if someone proposed Tkachuck and Tim Stutzle, GMKD would be a fool to not do that deal.

In this case it does...
Which case? It was a hypothetical with X's and Y's.

I just read a lot of posts about different teams trading their best player for so and so. My point is that, using the parameter of "a team's best player" is not a consistent parameter in terms of talent/value and as such should not be used in any rational discussion of why trades should or should not be made. It is irrelevant.

I don't think you'll have to worry about it...
Is that all you’ve got to say ? I mean if you thought my wish for a Nylander + a prospect for Tkachuk was so ridiculous that deserved a beat down, don’t you have more to say to school him for saying Tkachuk not worth straight up for Nylander, or did you learn your lesson well to be more respectful to those who disagree with you ?

While I agree that a team trading their 4th best player for a teams best player may not be a good deal for the team who has traded their 4th best player but in the case of Ottawa trading their best player, Brady Tkachuk, for Nylander, who in fact maybe Toronto's 5th best player...it is

Nylander and an AHL player for Tkachuk is ridiculous for Ottawa.

That‘s fine, that’s your opinion and I respect that. If we all learn to understand and respect that we all have different opinions, we can get into a lot more interesting conversations with being confrontational.

As I said, I was not talking about these two teams in particular. I was saying that making reference to any particular team's best or 2nd or 6th best player in terms of a trade is meaningless in terms comparing talent from another team. The only valid comparison is the relative talent between the players being discussed to each other, not their teammates.

What a shot ! The hole couldn’t be much bigger than the size of a puck and Spezza nailed it. Campbell stopped shots similar to those that beat Andersen regularly. I don’t think there should be any doubt that he’s the better goalie than Andersen right now. Muzzin was rock solid and Hyman the usual workhorse. The thing that is missing in the Leafs’ power play may be a big point shot. Rielly just doesn’t have that.
