Yeah, Rogers promised they will hold off raising prices for Freedome Mobile customers for 3 years. I bet that was written on the fly on a napkin, to be tossed away as soon as the deal is signed and sealed. I am on a legacy Freedom Mobile plan as one of the early subscribers at $29 per month unlimited 5GB data (then 128 kbs thereafter) so this deal will affect me if it goes through.

I also have a Roger's mobile plan so I will get screwed on both sides.
Remember when Rogers promised not to raise Mobilicity and ChatR pricing for 2 years?

In both cases prices increased EARLY

Rogers calculated they made more $$$ that way, even paying out the CCTS penalties on the approx 20% who complained

prove they didnt

bottom of the article list wealthy families donations

Federal Liberals and Conservatives vote down NDP 1% wealth tax (kimsiever.ca)

and search yourself

The National Post | Database
Based on those BS links, it does not say anything about the Liberals receiving any donations as a result of the mergers. Otherwise , the Conservatives have been doing so after several mergers / takeovers under their regime. Rogers or Shaw do not get mentioned in the list of donors. Usual speculation!!

Those links show donations by Rogers to the liberals which prove that they did receive money from Rogers so they are not bullshit

If we're just going to have one company anyway, may as well nationalize it.

$15,700 to both the Liberals and Conservatives. So $15,700 is "tons of money" and both parties will be getting it?? I see your logic!!

look year by year and province by province also put in each rogers family members name follow the money. and that's not counting donations to the Trudeau foundation which are not as easily tracked and often offshore as most donations come from outside of Canada an obvious attempt to buy political favor

Pure speculation on your part. ROFLMAO!!

Persona, Rogers donated to Tories before network's approval:

Two of the companies involved in a fibre optic network that has attracted $15 million from the Newfoundland and Labrador government donated generously to the governing Progressive Conservatives, electoral office data show.

Rogers Communications and Persona Communications partnered with MTS Allstream for a $52-million proposal to construct a second fibre optic network connecting the island with mainland Canada.

Data filed by the provincial Chief Electoral Officer show that Persona donated $9,500 to the PCs in 2005 alone, while Rogers donated almost $12,000.

Neither company made a donation to the Liberals or the NDP in 2005, nor did they do so in the preceding year.

In 2004, Persona donated $4,500 to the PC party, while Rogers companies donated almost $15,000.

The donations make the companies some of the largest contributors to the Tory party. The provincial Elections Act does not set limitations on how much a company may donate to a party.

They have supported the Conservatives as well. But the "the tons of money" needs to be elaborated very specifically. Obviously you won't do so and are alleging that even the Foundation is getting it. Maybe you mean the Trump Foundation. LOL!!

You think that what you displayed is unique for the Liberals. Anyway, there was nothing in that link of your from that Conservative media called the National Post that revealed how much Rogers itself contributed. So a nothing burger!! After all this was your original allegation about "tons of money" from them!!

Do you think that Harper and his various Conservative cronies from the past were anymore transparent??
At least this is a Charity Foundation that is audited. But why did Harper keep his donors a secret??

province has no say in a federal decision especially since the Liberals don't care what ab has to say
Because Albertans always vote conservative, no matter what, nobody cares what they have to say, including conservatives.

typical liberal response you don't like what the truth is so you dismiss the source which is a national media if you actually tried to search it shows each province and federal donations then you change the subject

the fact is the Liberal government is the most scandal plagued corrupt government we have had Justin Trudeau is the ONLY PM to have been found guilty of ethics violations not ONCE but TWICE and probably a third time

Typical one giving Harper a pass. That was a legitimate source I posted and Harper was the least transparent Government. If you want to talk about real corruption and in the millions, Mulroney got that in spite of a bribery that he accepted for the Airbus purchase. He lied in Court about it and got $2.1 million in taxpayers money. The Harper Government squashed the full investigation. Yes you support the conservative corruption. Not saying that what Trudeau did was not ethically correct, but briberies etc are real corruption!!
