Death of some people vs. some people losing money? Sorry but easy choice for a society to make.
Why don't you donate all your wealth to a third world country if lives are more important than money? There are plenty of deaths nobody gives a shit about, especially in the pursuit of profit. It always has existed always will and yet, people have been convinced small businesses can sacrifice untill bankrupt while corporations revenue like amazon, walmart, tesla and other have grown exponentially. The covid19 game has been rigged in some peoples favor so no I reject the claim society values life more than money. Covid is bad sure, but its been blown way out of proportion. Lockdowns have led to induced mental illnesses, suicidal drinking and done much damage, so where is the compromise?

I donate to my local food bank to help people worse off then those who no longer can afford their second car.

That's nice that you say that, but we will never see evidence and I don't expect you to provide it.

The point I was trying to make was that covid has allowed some stupid arguments to be formed like we always value human life, which is simply not true. There are many, many cases where profit/wealth/capital, even only looking at Canada, are valued more than the prevention of deaths, and many of these deaths are not guarenteed when talking about covid. I'm just trying to understand why covid lockdowns are the exception to this well practiced rule.

I'm not interested in a right or wrong answer, because it doesn't exist. But why are some people so adamant about such a strict lockdown. It clearly hasn't worked for over a year now, it's clear it's time to try something else. And I don't buy the if everyone followed the rules it would have worked, especially when the very lawmakers have been caught breaking these rules.

That is total B.S.

Being inconvenienced is a long way from having one's life "destroyed". No wonder that nobody takes the covidiots seriously, aside from other covidiots.
The covidiots need not worry, their time will come.

Death cannot be prevented only deferred, like taxes almost. When the covidiots find themselves behind the eight ball, when the bell tolls for them, will there be a disconnect ? I don’t think so

He's not forced to break the law.

The problem he faces is not having the financial resources he had before. He has a house, he has food. It would suck for him if he needed to downsize or rely on public services and foodbanks but a successful business is not covered in any human rights code.
ROFLMAO!!! You work for the government, eh? You've never heard of fixed costs, cash flow, etc. The problem he faced was the government shutting down his small business and the only source of cash flow. A barber cannot go to the bank to negotiate a bridge loan, refinancing or a line of credit and the man is wise enough not to use personal asset(house) to keep the shop afloat in this fucked up environment. The government mandates him to stop earning, but the fixed costs are still due- now or later. So, he is doing what any wise man would- working around the problem. And since he is working underground, no tax for the people who forced him there.

Lockdowns aren't worth it, I agree but covididiots keep putting us into lockdowns. Anyways a 3rd one is coming.
I drove down Yonge street yesterday. A sea of people walking the streets, in line-ups. No social distancing. It was very close to what life was like before covid except there were people wearing masks outdoors. It's a lot like Vancouver which isn't in lockdown...the difference being they don't have covidiots in power mandating lockdowns.

How about no more lockdowns with the government should building more hospitals, wth greater ICU capacity, acquire more ventilators and increase the amount of healthcare staff since Covod-19 and it’s variants look like the new normal and are an unwelcome addition to everyday life? Then the covidiots can proclaim that the pandemic is over.

If we did all of that while simultaneously quarantining those at risk, we'd have a winning strategy. The economy would have continued humming along, more jobs would have been created, and fewer people would have died. I'm surprised you can't see this.

Yes of course! Let's follow the untrained, no idea google researchers so we can end up like Italy and head into another major lockdown. You "people" will be the cause of another major lockdown here as well!

I think you covididiots are enjoying the pandemic and lockdowns, it enables you guys to take centre stage with protests and spreading false information. Next is the anti-vax movement to take centre stage. All you guys are attention whores.

Is there a contagious pandemic of smoking that can be mitigated by social distancing and isolation?
Uh yeah it is called "second hand smoke"
Causes cancer and all kinds of health issues
I know most of you are living under a rock during this pandemic but surely you have heard what the effects of smoking do to random strangers right?

You are really struggling with reading aren't you?

Go back to see what you are (trying) to reply to and get back to me

I could quote the number of cancer deaths vs covid deaths (hint more die of cancer in a year than covid) but the math is too much for you
We lose way more cancer patients per year than covid patients

We lose 15,000 people to covid in a year (vast majority of those had underlying health issues)
We lose 70,000 people to cancer in a year (cancer is always the #1 or #2 cause of death to all Canadians, even those sitting home social distancing)

So um yeah
Second hand smoke is a FAR more pressing concern than covid ever was or will be
