Gee, I thought Simmonds would be out of the lineup first.Thornton out awhile with a wrist injury.
Probably from that crosscheck he took in front of the net. He was slow getting up. I hope the others step up and crush the Oilers tonight. Now Matthews is out injured.
Who’s next?
Upper body soreness is the reason given for being out tonight.Probably from that crosscheck he took in front of the net. He was slow getting up. I hope the others step up and crush the Oilers tonight.
And the hair flowing like Lafleur.I can't believe Nylander. Instead of digging in the corner he's floating in the slot dishing off a perfect pass for a can't miss goal by Vesey. What was he thinking?
Leafs up 2-1 about half way through. Good paced game tonight.
It's sacreligious if not sacre bleu (blanc rouge). And the hair flowing like Lafleur.
Much as I defend Willy, he had both very good and very bad - as in very, very, very bad!!!! - moments tonight.I can't believe Nylander. Instead of digging in the corner he's floating in the slot dishing off a perfect pass for a can't miss goal by Vesey. What was he thinking?

Maybe two assists on the 1st 3 goals is adequate compensation. Players have strengths and weaknesses and hopefully the former is more of a factor than the latter.Much as I defend Willy, he had both very good and very bad - as in very, very, very bad!!!! - moments tonight.
A typical kind of Willy’s game, influential and dangerous on both ends of the ice. In this one game the team won and he made his contributions. In the playoffs though, against better teams with better defence and goaltending, his offensive brilliance will be neutralized but his defensive lapses will lead to even more goals against.Maybe two assists on the 1st 3 goals is adequate compensation. Fully one half of Marner’s goals this year have been in an empty net so you could say they were short handed, kind of.Mitch Marner 4 goals all at even strength. John Tavares 4 goals all on the PP. Both leading the league in those categories standing alone.
It's a testament to Mitch that the coach relies heavily on him to stop the opposition's best players and to put a dagger in with the empty net.Fully one half of Marner’s goals this year have been in an empty net so you could say they were short handed, kind of.
He’s probably leading the league in goals scored from the centre red line.
Campbell was hurt late in today's game.Campbell plays great. Leafs finally found a capable backup since letting MacIlhinney go.
