I hardly have any posts in that thread where I expressed opinions of any kind. Most of the thread is people attributing arguments to me that I never made, and freaking out at the mere existence of the litigation I reported on. Oh, and a lot of insults directed my way and me responding to them. Re-read it sometime and you'll see what I mean.
The thread extends as long as it does because of the ridiculous S-ing back and forth, quite true. But you made your opinions on the legislation, along with your ability to read and understand it, very clear.

It certainly doesn't look like anyone was seriously injured in this specific clip. Is the OP advancing the theory that this particular protester's "weapon of choice" was a fire extinguisher, so he must have found another one to wield against the officer who died? If there are 100,000 film clips, surely one of them captures the altercation involving the deceased officer. It doesn't appear that such a video has been released to the public, if it exists.
Why would the police release it, dutch?
All they need to do is wait for Trump's moronic coup mob to out themselves.

This is your one chance to convince me to take you seriously.

Why did you post the video? Was it to suggest that the protester shown in the video is the same person who also had an altercation with the officer who died?

I'm prepared to bet that striking a cop wearing a riot helmet with a fire extinguisher that was light enough to casually toss underhand about 10 feet did not lead to that officer having a subsequent stoke, and certainly doesn't match the narrative of "beating cop in the head with a fire extinguisher".

So, again, what was the point you were trying to make?
How do you know this wasn't one of multiple times cops were hit with fire extinguishers by white supremacists/right wingers out for violence?
Would you like to volunteer for some tests and we can see if throwing an empty fire extinguisher at someone's head is dangerous?
Could be a perfect time to show us how much smarter you are than the rest of us.

To help identify and thereby arrest the suspect. Same reason they release footage in many other cases.

1. I don't know that this particular clip means anything at all. I was asking the OP what he thought the significance of this particular clip was.
2. I wouldn't volunteer to be anywhere near someone like you, for any reason. I can't even persuade you not to annoyingly seek to engage me here on this forum. I can only imagine how much worse it would be if you were stalking me in real life. Having said that, I'm pretty sure the manufacturers of the riot gear worn, as well as the police services involved, already thoroughly tested this gear against projectiles of the type and mass of fire extinguishers, and satisfied themselves of the effectiveness of their equipment.
3. I show I'm smarter than you every day, but you'll be the very last to understand that.
4. Who is this "us" you always speak of? That's real clinical psychosis stuff.

It bothers you that I'm smarter than Frank? That's hardly a genious level claim. Or were you offended because you judge yourself equal in intelligence to him, so you extended my remark to yourself?

One thing I have learned from my long time in academia and business, is that anybody who claims to be very smart, is not.

You have not given me cause to change my mind on that. I have difficulty imagining you being smarter than anybody here on Terb.

1. A capitol officer was killed by a Trump supporter with a fire extinguisher. This was another example showing its a pattern.
2. You really think any helmet would stop you from being hurt if someone throws a fire extinguisher at your head? Please volunteer to test your theory.
3. 0 for 63 shows you're not as smart as anyone else on this thread
4. 'us' is everyone on this board, there isn't even a single other Trumptard that bought your 'theory of fact and law that appeared rational to you'

Your 'theory of law and fact that appeared rational to you' failed 63 times in a row and I pointed out the errors each time beforehand.
I'd ask you to google Dunning Kruger effect but I expect you'd think you're too smart to use google.

You learned that in academia? I think not. Who in academia doesn't believe they are smart, at least in relation to the confined topic of their academic expertise?

Do you know what the approach of smart people is in relation to the question of who is smarter than whom? They keep their own counsel. They don't appeal to others for support for their view. Not Frank. He's a groupthink kind of guy. He can't post anything directed to me without using the word "we".

You disagree with me on a variety of issues. You should leave our discussions at that level. However, I notice a prevalent trend here on TERB, and in the world of political discourse, to try to attribute contrary opinions to a lack of education or intelligence. I read a post from Mandrill just today taking that approach. It really serves no purpose, except for trolling. I don't post opinions to prove I'm smarter than other posters. I keep my own counsel on that. I post opinions that I think are more correct than those I respond to.

1. At the very least it shows MAGA morons assaulting multiple police officers, some with a weapon. It may actually be the video of the fatal blow. The FBI will find this POS and will lay the appropriate charges. The significance of me posting the video is that I post what I want. Don’t like it, don’t click the link.

You keep trying to minimize the video, just like you keep trying to minimize the riot caused by these MAGA morons. You state that you “don’t think the fire extinguisher was thrown with much velocity” or that “there appears to be a cloth covering”. What is the significance of posting your opinionated drivel?

As for any psychosis, you display the classic “repeating the same action over and over while expecting a different result” to a T.

If you don't want people to post about the videos you link, don't post them.

That's actually funny, and 180 degrees to reality. In truth, the responses I get are exactly what I expect. So, the more appropriate maxim is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Let me introduce you to a subtle thought. Debates and arguments never accomplish anything during the heat of battle. However, the points that are made seat themselves into the minds of the debaters, and more importantly, into the minds of their broader audience, over the long term. As a result, good points win over that longer term. The personalities and emotion attached to the debate fade. However, people who hold political power in the short term based on bad ideas NEVER surrender it lightly, so much carnage happens while they struggle to hold on to that power.

Frank, you insinuated I am arrogant and I said I'm smarter than you. I guess your feelings were hurt more than mine? Boo hoo.

My advice, don't start fights you can't win. Even better advice? Don't try to engage me at all. I'd be able to avoid seeking your attention. Would you be able to do the same?

I don’t care if you post about the video, but to think that you are somehow entitled to an explanation of the significance of my posts, makes you very delusional.

180 degrees to your alternate reality, perhaps. But don’t let that get in the way of your opinionated drivel.

In what universe can you post an opinion related to politics, and to be sure your post presented such an opinion, and not expect to be asked to clarify your point? This is a rhetorical question, because the answer is - in no universe. Or did you think this forum is your personal journal?

It does not matter if he even hit anything with the extinguisher. The fact that he threw it at law enforcement officers with INTENT to harm, while trespassing makes it AGGREVATED ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON.

You're late to the party. Legal defences aren't the subject under discussion. The accurate political narrative to attach to the event is.

I’m waiting for the FBI to catch up with this POS. Hopefully he puts up a bit of a fight so the Feds can apply their subdue and restrain techniques.
