just found out Jays signed Springer to a 6 year 150 million contract so they really upgraded their offence ... I had heard that the Mets were in the running but not one bit surprised that they didn’t get him, still I always thought that he would end up in Boston with Alex Cora

Looks like they’re not finished, Brantley may be next ...if they we’re to also get Altuve with that buzzer of his I would
really like their chances at 23/1 for the WS ... would even put a fifty on them as a degenerate gambler

Okay so they have spent 80 million on Ryu and 150 million on Springer. Can we finally say we told you so?
And I said, seeing is believing. Now I believe.

But I am sure that some people here said that this is not the right time to be spending big because revenues are down due to covid. I kept repeating that an owner with deep pockets should be able to spend, regardless, like other big market teams. I told you so. LOL

if your referring to me, that’s not what I said. What I said was, I wouldn’t blame them IF they waited or pivot from a buisness plan as every buisness in the world has to do right now.

Secondly, they were as transparent as they could be with their plan. They said all along this is what they were going to do. This was the pitch they gave to Rogers when they were hired so I’m not sure why you kept doubting it .

this exactly the reason they extended Shapiro as they are right at the place he said they would be. Now what this group has done has created a much bigger window to win. It’s not a one and done thing. They have the talent sitting in the farm in baseball, still have decent financial flexibility, and a core of players Heading into their prime on the cheap.

I would challenge you on your assertion that they have the talent on the farm in baseball. That would be the Rays. Jays are down that list a bit

Other than I would agree with you on everything else you have stated. Shapiro and crew came here and did all the dirty work with the house cleaning and delivered exactly what they said they would do.

They just need quality starter right now. Question. Is Sonny gray the answer?

No. I think what they do is wait and make a trade because there's no good FA's out there.

not sure what they are thinking but pitching is 90 % and they are not going to go deep without some more pitchers

bear in mind they are the most injured of all positions so you have to have depth

now they can trade but who is gonna give up quality for gurriel?

can they trade vlad ? His power is not required now to be a winner but more pitching is
