We're being lied to. Just ask a cop the difference between what is reported (or not reported at all) versus what really happens in incidents that get news coverage. They experience fake news daily.

The worse the situation gets, the rosier the picture Big Brother will paint for us.

Or the other way around. The rosier the situation is the worse the picture Big Brother will paint.

I just don't get it. This new case of a woman that arrived in Toronto from Iran on Feb.15 and became ill and went to the hospital. She was reported as a 5th case of Corona virus in Ontario, but they are still awaiting confirmation by the National Microbiology Lab in Winnipeg. So they basically do not know and yet they report it as Virus!

Then they let the woman go and now she is at home in self-isolation. She was here 9 days, potential spreading the virus not to mention people that were on a plane with her could have been affected too. No mention on any attempt to contact any of them.

Also the crazy thing is that the plains are still arriving here from China every day. Hundreds if not thousands of potential infected people coming here every day. With no way to really test anybody at the airport, since such test can only be confirmed by the National Microbiology Lab in Winnipeg, according to the case of a woman from Iran.

Is this some kind of a joke? If this was a real serious virus, we would be all dead by now.

I guess the bottom line is: Do not believe the headlines, do not get scared by the media and the government. They certainly are dealing with this issue as something that there is nothing to worry about!

A couple of weeks ago I would've said that I'm not worried. With what is happening in the world, I'm worried. It has spread like wildfire and they can't control it very well. I will definitely be careful what I tough and where I go.

For the guys scared/concerned, would this make you stop or reduce seeing SPs until the outbreak is controlled? Interested to see this response if this will be a significant number

If a significant portion will stop seeing them, i can imagine the ladies will soon start ramping up there efforts to attract clients

I think there are large market corrections coming in a lot of areas, sex work definitely among them. Things could get very grim out there, think war time conditions. “Regular” women will be trading sexual favours for food and shelter or other goods. SP’s won’t be getting $300, $400, $700 an hour.

I also suspect the housing market will collapse.

If they can’t stop this thing, the world is going to change in extreme ways.

Based on all 72,314 cases of COVID-19 confirmed, suspected, and asymptomatic cases in China as of February 11, a paper by the Chinese CCDC released on February 17 and published in the Chinese Journal of Epidemiology has found that the risk of death increases the older you are, as follows:

80+ years old = 14.8%
70-79 years old = 8.0%
60-69 years old = 3.6%
50-59 years old = 1.3%
40-49 years old = 0.4%
30-39 years old = 0.2%
20-29 years old = 0.2%
10-19 years old = 0.2%
0-9 years old = no fatalities

I'm 38. 0.2% is still a bit high for my liking, but it's nothing to freak out about.

2% fatality would make it as bad as the spanish influenza, which was pretty massive.
CBC even had an article out tonight suggesting you stock up as stores in China and Italy are empty with panic buying and people self quaranteeing.
It appears to spread before symptoms, though nobody has found out exactly how or when yet.

It'll hit here and likely everyone will get it, but almost all of us will just have a bad flu, some with no symptoms and a few not in healthy will become seriously ill.

What are you basing “we’ll all likely get it” on? Because so far, I see experts (aside from kooks like PornAddicts “expert” who predicted over a million dead by feb. 20th) saying that Canada, and particularly Toronto are extremely prepared due to protocols developed during the SARS outbreak, experts saying that China has done a very good job overall containing the virus, and I see myself living in a city with one of the largest Chinese populations outside of Asia with a whopping 4 confirmed cases, all of which are accounted for and in quarantine, and no indication that there is the potential for an uncontrolled breakout here. I really don’t know where some of you people are getting this stuff from.

They simply repeat a lie 1000 times and then it becomes the truth. You know who said that first, I'm sure.

Come on now, this is completely ridiculous. We’re not going to get anywhere near to the point where we’re so desperate that women are trading sex for food. Like, are you posting from an underground bunker full of dehydrated food? This is an egregious level of alarmism.

Don’t be so sure. China makes everything, and they’ve been shut down for a month with no end in sight. Supply chains will be affected regardless of whether we suffer a big outbreak over here. The place that makes stuff isn’t making any stuff. This is already going to happen.

Once Toronto gets up to 100 and then very quickly to 1000 cases and beyond, grocery stores will empty, exactly like they have in Hong Kong and Milan, for example.

No stuff, no food, nobody going to work, schools closed, cities shut down.

Hummers for ham sandwiches seems like a pretty likely outcome to me.

Those people who have been predicting doomsday is already here and telling people to stay home are clueless and those who are at the other end of the spectrum that keep saying there is nothing to worry about and the flu is worse are just as clueless, and many are presenting misinformation not facts. Like those who were saying infants are at the same risk as the elderly, which is not true.
The facts are this virus so far has had no affect on the young ones, it also affects more men than it does women, and it has a dramatically higher death rate amongst those that are 60 years old and above specially those with resperiatory issues.

The fact that the Corona Virus is highly contagious should be of concern to all, as in a few of the cases the person who tested positive for the virus had no contact or direct links to other people who had tested positive for the virus.
Although the death rate is around 3% if this virus is not contained it will travel through the world due to it being highly contagious and the number of cases will dramatically increase. China did a great job in containing the virus by shutting down cities let's hope other nations are able to do the same, otherwise like I said it's going to travel and travel fast and in some cases it won't be found out until two weeks time which by that time will have already affected too many people.
If the number of cases globally gets to 250,000-300,000 it won't be stopped until dramatic actions are taken.

Many people have posted on here that children are at risk, again this is incorrect. Matter of fact there have been no death of anyone between the ages of 0-9 from the Corona Virus.

Like I said earlier this whole notion that the flu is worse is just another attempt at trying to downplay the Corona Virus. The virus is highly contagious and in some cases there are no direct links or contact with other people who had tested positive for it, which makes it a very dangerous virus. As well for the flu there is a vaccine for the Corona Virus there isn't.

Wait for it to ravage its way through Africa, India and the rest of Asia. Also the USA and probably Canada will have a huge explosion of cases once they start actually testing on a mass scale.

South Korea may look bad, but they’ve also tested over 60,000 people.

The case in California, the patient was intubated for 5 days before the CDC would test him for coronavirus. The USA is going to be a big mess.

Also, we’ve all seen the 3 kids to a body bag videos. Of course this will affect children.

I agree. Countries with less ability to quarantine will get hit with huge amount of damage.
