Oh, no doubt, you’re very likely correct on that count. That said, there’s also no doubt that many more of these blatant anti-Semites have come out of the woodwork in recent years. I don’t think it’s anywhere near epidemic proportions, or that it’s even particularly common amongst the general population, but as I said earlier, I am now very apprehensive about revealing my partly-Jewish heritage where I never was before. That is a certainty.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big, scary guy and I’ve never had anyone say anything to my face, but it has happened many times online and I do always push back against it. I guess it’s just more of a hassle than anything. I’m not observant, I’m an atheist, and I don’t really identify as a Jew (though I did have a Bar Mitzvah). Nothing against it, my family was just never particularly religious growing up, I personally just don’t have much use for religion, so it doesn’t mean a ton to me. I just think it disgusting to see this sort of shit becoming so prevalent again. The evil Jews thing has been used so many times throughout history, we’ve been scapegoats so many times, we’ve had to fight hard for what we have now, and it’s fucking bullshit that these assholes can come along and try to start this shit back up.
I can assure you though, if nothing else, I am most certainly not scared or powerless.
I actually gotta give Trump a pass on this one. He’s been pretty consistent in his support of Israel and the Jewish people. Seems like one of the very few groups he doesn’t shit on. Certainly some of his supporters are very anti-Semitic, but he himself doesn’t seem to be. Gotta give credit where credit is due.
Trump should not get a pass, he has a history of anti-Semitic comments, from the 'hires only Jews to deal with money' type on to 'nasty, violent people' he just called a crowd of Jewish supporters.
