Why is Ontario at the back when the province, particularly Toronto/GTA raised a large portion of the GoFundMe money to help the victims? I considered it a slap in the face, our generosity not respected. I may be reading too much in it, but I do know their is a great deal of resentment out West, particularly against Toronto. It's something that should be cast aside during a tragedy.
Yes, you are reading into a cartoon way too much.
Do you honestly think that a cartoon speaks for the citizens of Saskatchewan? If the donations were bring used inappropriately (like people going on extravagant vacations, etc.) then that would be disrespectful of others generosity. Afaik, that isn't the case.

People generally donate because they honestly care about other people and aren't expecting something in return. Saskatchewan doesnt owe us anything for being decent human beings. It's not a donation if youre expecting something back.

There maybe some resentment towards Toronto, but most people can put that aside in the face of tragedy.

Agreed, but I prefer to have my nuts in a pineapple sundae.

Most guys fall into involuntary celibacy until they become men. Women don't want guys, they want someone who'll have their back when they are pregnant. That's the primary directive (Star Trek pun not intended), guys are a bad risk.
No sane person who can't get laid or is socially awkward rents a vehicle and drives down the sidewalk. The instinct to fuck someone is too strong for that. Normal (or even semi normal) people always find the way. People who cannot always (!!!) have an underlying condition (s). Not an excuse, just a simple reality of mental state.

I hope you are joking.

A guy like this would be a nightmare client and most likely would turn into a deranged stalker who would become obsessed with the woman.

The guy is off the charts dangerous and they need to lock him up and throw away the key
This ^

The guy supposedly belong to an incel forum similar to Terb: https://incels.me/index.php
Very depressing to read some of the posts there :(

Hobbyists are incels that were smart enough to find a cure?
I went through a few threads on the site phil posted.

These guys have for right or wrong given up. It stems deeper then women as is about rejection from society as a whole it appears. And their coping mechanism is this belief system they are evolving.

One guy even said that because another member had recently gotten laid and no money exchanged hands he should be banned from the site.

So I think it's less about sex and really about loneliness. And inability to interact with greater society. The movement further exacerbates it into a feedback loop where their only sense of community and affirmation is further isolation. Weird I know but it's another offshoot of MGTOW.

It’s a common theme that people that commit these mass killings are guys that are outsiders who feel ostracized from the rest of society. The are often the same young men that are easily radicalized by terrorist ideology. I think in their warped world view it’s a way for them to make the world that has ignored them and passed them by for so long, finally pay attention.

Why some 'incels' are celebrating accused in Toronto van attack

Aditi Natasha Kini wasn't surprised to see that the accused in the Toronto van attack, Alek Minassian, called for an "incel rebellion" on Facebook. She's seen that kind of rhetoric before.

The New York journalist wrote a feature about incels — or involuntary celibates — for Vice News in November 2017, and faced harassment and death threats because of it.

And now she says some members of that internet subculture are celebrating Minassian as a hero.

Minassian was charged Tuesday with 10 counts of first-degree murder and 13 counts of attempted murder after a crowd of pedestrians was mowed down in Toronto on Monday.

A post on Minassian's Facebook said the "incel rebellion has already begun" and referred to "Supreme Gentleman Elliot Rodger." Rodger was the 22-year-old California man responsible for a deadly rampage in Isla Vista, Calif., that left six people dead.

Facebook has confirmed the post was real. On Tuesday police said it was published minutes before the attack unfolded. Minassian's account has since been shut down.

Kini told As It Happens host Carol Off about incel culture and why she believes it is dangerous.

Here is part of that conversation.

Can you tell us, first of all, what is an incel?

It stands for involuntary celibate. So an incel is a cisgendered heterosexual man who hasn't had sex, not out of choice.

Why has it developed into an online phenomenon?

There is a growing faction of men who have found outlets for their anger against women and dating culture in general online, and that's been codified into a sort of indoctrination.

I understand what you're suggesting is that this incel isn't just people meeting online to compare notes and to commiserate and help each other get better dating skills. This is something that has an echo or a tone of misogyny and hatred toward women.

On the surface, incel sounds harmless. It sounds like someone who is trying to make sense of why they cannot connect with other people.

But the incel community purposely leaves out who they call "females" or "femoids" — women who they say cannot be an incel because women always get sex regardless of how ugly they are.

And they leave out gay people because they think gay people have easier access to sex.

So there is a high degree of misogyny in the community.

What was your first reaction when you saw this Facebook post?

That sort of rhetoric is common on incel forums online, and I've seen Elliot Rodger praised a lot in incel forums as a saint and the day that he killed those people is celebrated.

Just tell us how [Rodger] plays into this online incel community.

He did identify as involuntary celibate and he was very angry with women for not giving him sex. And he talked about this as his revenge.

The other thing that I just read in that Facebook thing from Minassian — he says that "we will overthrow all the Chads and Stacys." Can you tell us what that's in reference to?

So Chads are cisgendered heterosexual men who are muscular, conventionally attractive, hot. They get whoever they want.

Stacy is someone who pretends to be virtuous and pure in front of an incel and won't touch an incel, but the minute a Stacy meets a Chad, then she will have sex.

Have you seen people responding within those communities to yesterday's attack?

I've seen actually a lot of discussion. It's just hard to parse how much people are saying things to be trolls [or] how much they mean it.

One reaction is that it's a faked attack, or it's fake that he's an incel and it's used to blemish the name of incels.

But then I've seen people talking about how ... this is an opportunity and it's good that they're in the mainstream.

I can read you some of the comments:

"It's a good time to be an incel. Our brothers are launching their counter-attack, getting their revenge."

"Well, he certainly got us noticed. It will be interesting to read about Alek's story as more details about his life unfold. I'd love to know exactly what made him think he was an incel."

"Prepare the way to incel sainthood for Sir Alek."

"One of us! One of us! One of us!"

I know you have been following this for some time and you've have written and published your article about the online incel groups. What happened to you after that?

I had to basically lock all my accounts because I started receiving violent threats.

At one point a man called me and he had my address and he said he was outside. I was not there. It was an old address.

But when I asked the police for help, they said they weren't able to do anything because I didn't have a name and I couldn't identify who was calling.

I was told to go to the FBI but I felt like it was just too much to do, so I didn't.

Heard that he seemed to be attempting to hit women, anyone know if this is true or merely rumor.
Everything still just a rumour. I heard it too. But the casualties have not yet been identified.

Then this is nothing to do with "religious terrorism" that was insinuated by certain individuals.

Making excuses for the religion of peace already, huh??
Also, there is a theory that the USA already knew that he was a potential terrorist. No details yet about the type of terrorism that the CIA have on this individual.

I read that he has been under watch from US authorities, as a potential terrorist. Let's see how this plays out and how Justin will spin it.
Assumption that he is a Muslim?

Muslims in Armenia, who could ever conceive of such a thing:
More assumptions that the individual is a "Muslim".

You're really mad you can't pin this on the usual muslim terrorism, eh *****??!

No worries, next week will be another go at it, sweet sunshine
Suddenly, it is the "Liberal Media" that is restricting the truth reaching out

They must say that, otherwise they will lost their job next week. I watch the news and nobody use the word " terror attack". It's forbidden in this liberal media. My opinion: It was a plotted terror attack against Canada. You can live in denial but this is the truth. 10 people died and the most important thing to lie to the public about the real reason. Pathetic.
Have the RCMP now stated that this is an act of terrorism? It does seem like an intended mass killing with no known motive as yet.

Clearly this is terrorism
This so far is mass intentional murders. True / Or false?
Unless he is a Christian that converted to a different religion such as a Muslim, and then perpetrated this act of "terrorism"?

INCELS CELEBRATE MINASSIAN AS THEIR NEW HERO!!

"That moment when this random dude killed more people than the supreme gentleman Elliot. I hope this guy wrote a manifesto because he could be our next new saint."

After Alek Minassian’s Toronto van rampage that left 10 dead and 15 injured Monday, speculation abounded about his motive. The 25-year-old suspect had not been on the radar of law enforcement, and authorities said the killings “were not national security related.”

Then a Facebook post emerged from what appeared to be Minassian’s account. Posted the day of the attack, it hints at an unsettling motive.

“Private (Recruit) Minassian Infantry 00010, wishing to speak to Sgt 4chan please,” it reads. “C23249161. The Incel Rebellion has already begun! We will overthrow all the Chads and Stacys! All hail the Supreme Gentleman Elliot Rodger!”

At first glance, the language in the post invites a healthy dose of skepticism. Considering the enthusiasm with which internet trolls spin false narratives after a tragedy, this claim was met with caution. But recent reports suggest it is, in fact, authentic. Multiple news outlets say Facebook representatives have confirmed the veracity of the post, and Toronto Police in a press conference today indicated they also believe it is authentic.

And what the post suggests – that Minassian was part of the “incel” community – bears further explanation.

“Incels,” or “involuntary celibates,” are part of the online male supremacist ecosystem. The Southern Poverty Law Center added male supremacy to the ideologies tracked on the hate map this year, because of the way these groups consistently denigrate and dehumanize women, often including advocating physical and sexual violence against them. On the internet, the male supremacist ideology takes a few different forms. One of the newest forms is “incel.”

Incels grew out of the pick-up artist movement, which purports to offer men strategies to persuade, pressure, cajole or trick women into sleeping with them. When those strategies (or “game”) unsurprisingly proved unsuccessful for many men, they became deeply bitter. To an incel, sex is a basic human right for all men. So the women who deny them that right are committing a heinous — and punishable — crime.

Elliot Rodger provides the most chilling example of the most violent ends of this nihilistic, spiteful and self-centered ideology. He killed six people and injured 14 others in a mass shooting in California in 2014. He wrote a manifesto blaming women for his loneliness and the fact that he was still a virgin. “I'm the perfect guy and yet you throw yourselves at these obnoxious men instead of me, the supreme gentleman,” he wrote.

Incels see Rodger as their patron saint. They celebrate his tactics, his body count and, of course, his manifesto, and write wistfully of a violent uprising yet to come. They glorify Rodger’s attack using the shorthand, “going ER.” After last year’s horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas, incels on Reddit praised Paddock for killing “normies,” and hastened to claim him as one of their own in the absence of a clearer motive. Shortly after, the r/incel subreddit was banned from the platform.

With the revelation Minassian may be a Rodger admirer, the incel community is alight – some with indignation, but most with glee.

"That moment when this random dude killed more people than the supreme gentleman Elliot,” said user Crustaciouse on incels.me, where many flocked after the Reddit ban. “I hope this guy wrote a manifesto because he could be our next new saint."

Users cheered the fact that Minassian killed more people than Rodger. A person with the username Letting Go opined that the women of Toronto deserved what they got.

“As someone who visited Toronto at the beginning of the month, I can see how a man from that city could be driven to kill a bunch of people like that. The women up there are HORRIBLE -- even the ethnic women. It would brighten my day if the majority of the victims were young cunts like the ones that I encountered on my trip.”

Letting Go was jubilant when the identity of the first victim, a young woman, was revealed. “It’s a foid!” they said. “I have one celebratory beer for every victim that turns out to be a young woman between 18-35.”

“Foid” is short for “femoid,” a term popular with incels that combines “female” and “humanoid,” suggesting women are not fully human, just humanlike.

Some users were less wordy. User mikepence begged, “PLEASE BE TRUE PLEASE BE TRUE PLEASE BE TRUE.” KyloRen said simply, “Joyous day.”

BlkPillPres wrote, “ER doesn’t always have to be violent, it just needs to be strategic and punish normies in some way, they need to be in constant fear for EVERY ASPECT OF THEIR LIFE, killing normies from my perspective is kinda pointless but this is still good, I prefer acid attacks to mass killings though, wonder who is going to do a ‘mass acid attack.’”

When one user rained on the forum’s bloodthirsty parade, asking why posters were praising murder, user FeminismsCancer replied, “Are you serious? The murder of our enemies will of course be praised. It’s rational.”

Incels.me had another thread, this one less certain: “The Facebook post allegedly made by the Toronto Van Attacker is most likely fake.”

Here, users bemoaned the fact that this narrative of the attack would be used against them, some fearing that a newer incel subreddit, a slightly less vicious replacement called r/Braincels, would soon be banned. In an r/braincels Discord chat, Incel Executioner said, “We're about to be holocausted lads.”

A moderator of r/Braincels posted a disclaimer once speculation began heating up, stating the subreddit “does not support, encourage, or glorify any violence or physical harm, or those who commit such crimes.”

“It’s 100% fake news, i think we as a community have the rigth (sic) to sue the media,” said use Ub2w, whose signature reads “Eugenics = Utopia.”

Chadmarco added, “I want it to be true for the lulz.” And user Total Imbecile complained, “Im (sic) 99.9999% sure its fake, but you just have to love how everyone is so eager to bash ugly males, they dont (sic) even care that its fake at this point it seems, theyre (sic) out looking for whatever reason to shit on us.”

Details about Minassian and his involvement with incels are still emerging. He was charged Tuesday with 10 counts of first-degree murder and 13 counts of attempted murder, and he will return to court on May 10.

Meanwhile, the misogynists at incels.me continue their feverish discussion. User Crustaciouse began their own thread this afternoon, titled, “I laugh at the death of normies. They will die while we survive.”

“Us incels spend most of our time inside, there's no way we would ever be victims of an attack.

But normies must now live with fear for the rest of their lives, they can't go to school, the mall, or on a date without having to fear another incel attack,” they wrote. “And they should fear it, this is what happens when you leave us without any love or companionship.”
