I guess it is only fitting that my biggest LOL of the day is from you.
What he posted is exactly right, and if you were actually privy to the facts, you would know this.

But, continue to be a CNN bobblehead....

Black kids don't need recreation centres and basketball coaches. That's the last thing they need. They need fathers, mentors, and entrepreneurs. Having recreation centers for sports and music is not only a waste of money, it's a disgusting re-enforcement of stereotypes that limit what the kids think they are capable of achieving. Their chances of being the next Jay Z is practically zero. There is more in life to aspire to for black kids than a future in entertainment.

As for OJ and Frankfooter - they've been overwhelmed with the iron-clad data on the topic of IQ and have nothing more to add.
If kids don't have fathers, basketball coaches are a pretty good substitute. And for the rest, tune in to Hockey Night in Canada some time and get the never ending pitch about hockey and sports generally being a school for life skills. What do you think is better for a kid? Sitting around all day or getting out, developing his / her self-confidence and self esteem through sports and building relationships and people skills??

And that thread with OJ and Frankfooter, I recollect it being mainly a series of you throwing tantrums and ranting when you couldn't win the argument.

Those are actually the media focuses on more, because it gets them ratings. A cop killing a white guy gets much less ratings and no riots to follow. To summarize so you can follow the plot:

Black guy shot by white cop = huge rating$$$$
Riots to follow = even higher rating$$$$$$$$

White guy shot by cop = low rating$$$$
No riots to follow = no rating$$$$
Assuming you're correct - and you're not, viz Sammy Yatim - that doesn't prove that the White cop kill Black guy shootings didn't happen or that they should not be protested. And what you say doesn't begin to disprove the experience of many Blacks that those shootings are just the tip of the iceberg of generally unequal treatment of Blacks by law enforcement and the justice system. Lots of statistics exist to back up those impressions.

What everyone is forgetting or don't know about Collin is that he didn't even vote in the USA's last federal presidential election.

How should his actions or lack of actions any make sense to anyone if he couldn't even bother to exercise this right he has to try and make changes. The right to vote freely is not available to the majority of people in this world.
If you choose the lesser of two evils you still get evil.

You dont have to exercise your rights all the time.

Voting is not the only way to get change.

They should argue whether it's enough. $89 million is a tremendous start but it's not as great as it sounds. I can't be bothered to check but I believe it was about $250,000 per team per year over the lifetime of this. It's pennies to these franchises.
I think that is less than The leagues minimum salary

Yeah i mean what is the value in learning about discipline, hard work, dealing with adversity, teamwork, sportsmanship, gaining confidence, forming relationships with coaches and teammates

The goal is not to make it to the pros...... the percent chance is just too low.

How often does this happen?

You're living in fantasy land. That's the problem with people like yourself and CK. You're not apprised of the facts. You're a product of legacy media coverage.
It happens. What is an acceptable number of these occurences?

You need to get more creative instead of re-hashing failed "solutions". I've already stated what would work.

As for the thread with OJ and Frankie, refer to the following posts for a summary:

You should try being a little less cliche. There are other ways to instill all the things you mentioned without giving poor black kids basketball courts. Honestly, you and Oagre' suggestions are deeply racist and are indicative of the culture of low expectations you have of black kids. You're just too self-absorbed to see it.

What the hell do you care about "lots of statistics" anyway? You ducked out of the IQ thread when presented with statistics that shake everything you want to believe. Your own sister can back up all the data.

But I also want you to know that your pathetic baby boomer shaming tactics don't work in 2017. By all means keep up the "you're the guy that says group A is genetically inferior to group B" comments if you like. It just makes you sound like an out of touch old man with blinders on.

Give it up. I'd just as quickly recommend after school sports for ALL kids. And to my list of "clichés" you can also add promoting an active lifestyle.

But more importantly..... I never said it was the only thing that should be provided to black kids. Nor did I say that it was the only important thing.

The community centre SHOULD offer more than just sports..... tutoring, counselling, job finding skills, access to health care/information etc. But here's the thing.... kids need motivation to change. So maybe sports and fun activities are what draw them to the community center and feel comfortable enough to try some of the other programs offered. Kids that one day just up and decide to make serious changes in their life are few and far between. Actually the same can be said for adults.

I think you are foolish to think that sports and music is all the community centers offer.

You also say kids need fathers, mentors and entrepenuers..... well through sports they might meet 2 out of the 3. They might meet all 3 as to be able to coach you have to have time/be able to afford to do so. The point I'm making is it has positive effects for some kids, which is why it should stay.

If you have have to resort to calling us racist then I think you've run out of intelligent things to say.

You're just too self absorbed to listen to anyone else. As clearly evidenced by the fact that I never said sports was the be all and end all for black youths. All I was saying was that sports has value. If you read it as anything else, sorry.

Race and iq only matter if we live in a society where there are no other factors.

You're right frank, the recreation centre idea is going to be a raging success hahaha! And race and IQ don't matter LOL!

You're a teacher and part of what's wrong with our educational system and society.
