I like the moves I'm seeing so far. Getting rid of Demare Carroll and his fat contract was key. Sad to see Corey Joseph go but with Lowry, Van Fleet and one other guy whose name escapes me the PG position is fine.

I think JV is going to go if the plan is for Serge and Miles to play 5 and 4.

These moves won't shake the world but as long as they keep a few picks and don't sign crazy long term contracts we will be good. I think for the next few years it will be Cavs/Warriors but as long as the Raptors make the playoffs I am happy. Been watching them since day one and honestly a competitive product is all I want.

All true. The 3 year window that Ujiri has given this team is nice planning. We can put a good product on the floor, and still just one impact power forward from being able to aim higher. The Raptors organization can bring along some young talent over the next 3 years. And there's always a chance you get lucky with a player who develops more than you may have predicted.

Good by Carol and don't let the door hit you on the way . Stop blaming the Raptors for your pathetic performance . Look in the mirrow . You will be out of the NBA by the end of next season .

Great point. A good draft pick could really swing this team. Who knows maybe the guy we got in the first round overcomes his knee injury.

Not sure if Masai is done this summer, but right now this team is worse than last year. They pretty much lost their entire second unit in CoJo, Tucker, Carroll, and Patterson. They only added Miles, who is the only proven veteran on their bench. The rest of their bench have potential but are young and unproven. Wright, VanVleet, Poetl, and Siakam have a lot of potential, but OG is an unproven rookie, and Bruno and Bebe will never make useful contributions to any NBA team, they should both be in the D League.

Their current starting 5 in Lowry, DeRozan, Powell, Ibaka and JV is easily still the top 3 in the East, so even with a weak bench they'll likely still do well in an even weaker Eastern Conference than last year. The Cavs and Celtics are obviously better, but the Wizards and Bucks have the potential to lock up the 3rd and 4th spot in the East.

Boris Diaw would be a nice veteran presence on this team at the right bargain basement price. He almost came here years ago in a trade.

Think he is too slow now. His best days are behind him.
Think of Diaw coming off the bench giving you 15-20 min. per game. I like the idea, good chance most of the bench will be young with limited experience and he would provide the veteran presence and leadership!
Now seeing his name is out there linked to the Raps, my guess is Masai is shopping elsewhere.

Will be interesting to see what his salary is if he does sign with the Raptors. Patterson signed for 3/$16 million, which is a steal IMO

They should have signed Jeff Teague and Patrick Patterson. They could have probably squeezed in Nick Young for the same money as Lowry's contract!!!

He was making 7 million plus he had bonus money($500,000) if he kept his weight down. Don't see him getting $7,000,000. again, and the weight thing could be problamatic.

Yeah I thought Patterson would get more than he did. While his O was suspect ,he was decent on D.

Isn't Diaw old? I don't see him as a veteran leader type. So don't really see a good reason to grab him especially since his salary would reflect years in the league.

35 is on the downward slide. He currently is making 7 million. Might be better options for bench production.

Simmons goes to Orlando? That was a nice pickup. Did he have no other offers? This Orlando team doesn't have much drawing power for talent other than the weather.

Can't do that unless you renounce the rights to Lowry, Ibaka, and Tucker. The Raps are over the cap. Renouncing those guys is the only way to get below the cap. Even then, the Raps would only be 20 mil under the cap. There is no possible way to sign Young or Teague.

Raptors need a pleasant surprise to take this roster back into any home court advantage in the next playoff run.

With all of these defenders gone (Carroll, Patterson, Tucker) the question is who is going to handle LeBron?
