maybe I'll be eating my words...lol.On crack? Nah, just simple mathematics.
He's on pace for 65 points. As the schedule gets harder that pace goes down. As I said- Lucky to get 60 points.

Laine- GP-21- PTS- 18/-1Hahaha... Didn't see that. Damn autocorrect!
He'll be just fine.
No it is Matthews. I was watching night of the draft and the Leafs took Matthews first.Laine- GP-21- PTS- 18/-1
Matthews- GP- 18- PTS- 13/-4
Laine is the true #1.
20 games into their rookie season??Laine- GP-21- PTS- 18/-1
Matthews- GP- 18- PTS- 13/-4
Laine is the true #1.
20 games into their rookie season??
You may wish to consider a longer term view when drawing up such an absolute conclusion
How long have you been watching the game?

I think they are both doing pretty well. Can't make a career projection after 20 games. It's certainly possible that Laine may have the better career, but there is also more positional value from a center vs a winger.Laine- GP-21- PTS- 18/-1
Matthews- GP- 18- PTS- 13/-4
Laine is the true #1.
I think Jackjackjohnson is american troll doesn't fully understand hockey. We'll leave it at that.I think they are both doing pretty well. Can't make a career projection after 20 games. I'm beginning to believe this as well. Think opponents have figured out his game. He's getting shots but you have to think with the opportunities he's had Laine would have put some of those away. You can see where it's going. Matthews has a nervous rush and doesn't seem to have the play maker's mind like a Marner or Crosby or McDavid. He is big, skates well and will be a top 10 Center in the league but no game changer.
Laine is massive and can't be taken off the puck. He is a point shooter and once he parks himself there they can not move him. His shot is absolutely unstoppable and scary. He's like Sundin with a more lethal shot and his attitude is a nice extremely confident one where he wants to be the best.He will be a top 4 guy in NHL.
The guys who claim Matthews is the true #1 are just Leaf jock riders. If Matthews went #2 and Laine #1 they would be arguing Laine was the better player. NHL Scouts had them 52-48 for Matthews. That's a damn close margin. IMO Laine will emerge as the true #1, not saying Matthews is chopped liver but he won't even be #1 on the Leafs much less the league
You do know that +/- means sweet fuck all, it's pretty much a useless statistic, right?Laine- GP-21- PTS- 18/-1
Matthews- GP- 18- PTS- 13/-4
Laine is the true #1.
While more important for a defenceman, not totally useless. You do know that +/- means sweet fuck all, it's pretty much a useless statistic, right?
As useless as "save" in MLB. Come in with a 3 run lead and allow 2 runs and still get credit for a "save".You do know that +/- means sweet fuck all, it's pretty much a useless statistic, right?
