Talk about a brutal joke the referee gifted Orlando the win against FC. Hamilton got tackled by the Orlando goalie and ref waives play on. Former Roma striker Juan Baptista Swan Laked in the FC penalty area and the ref gives the penalty shot. That's a disgrace that MLS should review.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the Icelanders knocked out those spoiled dumb asses. The Frenchies would be overjoyed. But it will be a tall order for the warriors of the land of fire and ice. The SDA's are the greatest team in the universe.

Roy Hodgson didn't become an idiot overnight, he's still highly respected at Inter Milan. But his defense was atrocious and his goaltending even worse. Peter Shilton is a tough act to follow and England hasn't come remotely close.
As for Nello retiring from the Albiceleste, I can understand his frustration. He's not getting the proper support and Argentina's coaching is a joke. The Albiceleste are a fractious club, too much infighting between the Spanish and the Italians. Nello is the best player in the world but he doesn't have the force of personality to impose his will. You have to be a prick to lead to lead Argentine - like Maradona and Passarella were when Argentina won the World Cup. Nello has duel passports, he got an Italian one to qualify him as an EU player. Had he wanted to he could have played for The Azzurri, his lineage is more solid than Eder's.
As for Spain, every dynasty has closure, this is their Chicago Black Hawks moment. They went with two playmakers but too often Iniesta was left isolated with Chiellini - that's one battle El Gran Trequartista is never going to win.

You may be right, but everybody has been wrong all along. Iceland drew with Portugal and Hungary, and won over Austria and England.

Roy Hodgson is a serial loser. His only success was in the Swedish league 30 years ago. England though are heavily overrated again. They haven't won a tournament knock out game since 2006, 10 years ago. They have not beaten a good team at a tournament since 2002 when they defeated Argentina 1-0. Every tournament they seem to get worse. Or some combination of them getting worse and everyone else improving much faster than them.
Hodgson should have been sacked after the 2014 World Cup when they were eliminated after 2 games and 2 losses. It was obvious he was taking them no where then, it was obvious to me years ago he would take them nowhere after watching his disastrous spell in charge at Liverpool.
Problem is, there's no good English coaches to choose from either.
