Happy Friday everyone! Hope you have all had a great week and if you haven't I hope you have a great weekend ahead!☺ As I prepare for my upcoming trip to Europe, it got me thinking of all the travel I've been fortunate to do in my lifetime, and it made think of my favorite travel to-date. So my question for all of you is:

What's your favorite holiday you've ever been on? (And why if possible)✈

My first trip to Monaco back in the late 1970's with my brother.

Such a beautiful city. All that luxury, the Hotel de Paris, the original casino with the baccarat room, the beautiful women, the amazing exotic cars and yachts, and the high mountain highway down to Monaco (where Grace Kelly died in 1982), and then the winding coastal highways with the gorgeous Mediterranean views on the drive to to Cannes and St. Tropez...

Did I mention the stunning women???

I think it was Sydney, Australia because it was like they managed to take the best of California and Western Europe and not fuck it up. Of course being so far away helps avoid the over tourism that has hurt Western Europe and the overcrowding and homelessness that plagues California.

They are friendly people and the girls were the fun, uninhibited types.

They seem to actually give a shit about one another. Great hikes with water refilling stations on the way to keep anyone from dying of heatstroke. That is a little thing, I know. But little touches matter. Just like not overbuilding and maintaining wildlife around beaches. Florida’s commercial destruction of its beaches is truly awful. Basically the hotels now own the beaches.

Good museums and arts / theatre. Mass transit, including ferries.

Wish it wasn’t like the same distance from North America as the Moon is. But maybe that keeps the irritating masses away.

Yes, it is expensive, but like the distance issue, that keeps the irritating masses away.

This sounds like the perfect holiday! I leave for the Mediterranean in October and Monaco is one of the places I'll be visiting! I wish I had been born in the 50s/60s so I could experience life over there during those classic Hollywood times! Thank you for sharing!🤗

London and DC because of the sheer volume of museums available there
I am a sucker for museums, and DC is on my bucket list because of my passion for law. I sense a trip in the next couple of years there.🤔 Thank you for sharing!🤗

Tuscany for a week hopping from place to place on a completely random path with zero reservations to anywhere.
I have not been to Tuscany yet! It looks gorgeous and peaceful! Thank you for sharing!🤗

I loved reading your take on things. Times have definitely changed and not for the better.☹ It's nice to have good memories of a simpler time when people seemed more humane towards each other. I have wanted to visit Australia, but am terrified of the large insects there! Maybe in the distant future I'll brave it. Thank you for sharing!🤗

It’s look like I’m not the only one in this thread to enjoy Australia. I went there for a summer abroad semester that had stops in Byron Bay, Kakadu, Sydney, and Daintree. It was a bird course and didn’t require heavy hours studying, so there was plenty of time for us to sightsee on our own time. I even visited my extended family on the weekends in Sydney. Therefore, I consider it a vacation/holiday. Not to mention that the glamour of UNSW (University of New South Wales) was everything that UofT Scarborough wasn’t. So it was also a vacation from the grind of studying at a lackluster campus back at home.

I wish wasn’t as shy back then and engaged in a threesome with a pair of classmates on that program who would’ve been willing to be friends with benefits (as one of them even liked me, and I really should’ve just taken advantage of her initial advances).

Jamrock was pretty epic.
I'll admit, I didn't know what Jamrock was until I googled it. (I was thinking it was an event or concert) I was reading the history behind why it's referred to as Jamrock and there's a lot I learned. I have not been there yet, but have heard great things. Thank you for sharing!🤗

I love to hear stories of people who study abroad and I'm happy to hear you had so much fun while doing it! If I was around you during that time I would've told you yes, absolutely go for the threesome! (As long as there's mutual consent) Life is too short not to enjoy different experiences. Thank you for sharing!🤗

Lake Como Italy reminds me of Hawaii
Both spots are special to me.
Love Italy, Spain, Portugal
Hard to beat the east coast of Canada too

Miss going to Cuba too
I'm excited to be back in Italy in a couple months, it's a beautiful country! Portugal I have not been to, but have seen and heard is beautiful as well! I will save the political talk for others but I have a lot to say about what is happening to Cuba, as I also have been there several times and always enjoyed their hospitality and my adventures.
Canada is a breath taking country that should not be overlooked. So glad to hear you had fun journeying through our landscapes and heritage, thank you for sharing!🤗

Paris, Mallorca and Kauai.
I was in Paris 2001 and it was a hard vacation as a child. I need to revisit as an adult to appreciate it I think! Your other two favorites are beautiful destinations, thank you for sharing!🤗
