You would think the Jays pitchers would stay away from Chris Davis, but no, now we're on the verge of coughing up a big lead. Hopefully the Jays will score some more before this ones over.

Anyone else notice Buck and Pat's effusive praise of Showalters handling of the bullpen? This is of course the biggest complaint of Gibby on the various forums. Seems like a bit of slap to Gibby.

Russ Martin is batting .231 since May 1st.
Here's Russ Martin's batting average for the last 7 years:
2009 .250
2010 .248
2011 .237
2012 .211
2013 .226
2014 .290
2014 .240

What we are seeing (since May 1st), IS Russell Martin.

Now, if Mr. Martin could get back to his career average defensively, all is well
And guess who just hit a game deciding 3-run homer

Baseball is such a strange game. Sanchez pitched an absolute gem in Detroit, the best start by a Jays pitcher this season, gets a no-decision and the Jays lose. Today he pitches horribly and gets a win.

I got the impression the ump narrowed the strike zone on Sancho.

Grilli is from Syracuse and knows Toronto well, this is sort of playing for the home team to him.

Read my post again, I never said the season would be lost
I don't have to read it again. You said "they have to win". So I was asking, why do they have to? It implies dire consequences if they don't and I was curious what those consequences were and how their season would be dramatically altered with this particular loss.

Only to people who are looking to reinforce their dislike of Gibby.

And your point is....?
My point is he just won us the game. Why so defensive, Georgie??

BoSox lose to Twins, so Jays grab wildcard spot and are also 2.5 games out of division lead :clap2:

It doesnt imply that at all, thats how you chose to interpret it
Then what did it mean when you said "they have to win"? Tell us how to interpret that.

Are you really this dense?? The guy said we have to win 3 out 4 to send a message to the ALE that we're hot on their tails (or something to that affect). He never said the season would be lost if we split the series. You were putting words in his mouth.

Right now we're 2.5 games out, we woulda been 4.5 games out if we didnt win today

Seeing as they'd won the division last year with near the same roster and had closed from 8 out to 3.5 out, I highly doubted that one win today would send a message that the rest of the division was not already aware of.

It was one game of 162. Nothing special about this particular game that made it a "have to win" game.

Magic number is 102.

No we dont have the same roster, and yes it does send a message we're now in a wild card spot and 2.5 games off first

They have to? Is the season lost if they don't.

For sure, it would be nice to win, but "have to"? Hardly.

Do you think shack got to 20k posts all with meaningful content? or trolling?
