I've sure gotten old! I have outlived my feet and my teeth
I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement, new knees, fought
prostate cancer and diabetes I'm half blind, can't hear anything
quieter than a jet engine, take 40 different medications that make
me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts.
Have bouts with dementia.
Have poor circulation;
hardly feel my hands and feet anymore.
Can't remember if I'm 69 or 96.
Have lost all my friends. But, thank God, I still have my driver's license.
Phil, is that you man?
You sound so much like one of my neighbours.
We are thankful for the deep ditches along our street. They form a natural barrier and our only defense from his 4x4 pickup.
He has had to be extracted by tow truck at least three times that I'm aware of.
Another time he made it across the driveway of one house, took out most of the front landscaping and almost hit the home. He then tried to deny it was him, shrubs, branches and flowers in his grill and underbody.
He has also gone over the curb several times at the local Tim's but not yet through the window in front of the disabled parking space.
On his dizzier days the manager or one of the girls has to help walk him out and get in to his death mobile.
He has passed his over 80 drivers test and the police refuse to do anything.
His children have spoken to his Dr. and he continues to let it go on also.
Last year I went off the road to avoid a head on crash, during a snow fall. The guy coming at me had tried to pass a slow moving car in front of him and lost it. My car went over the curb on one side only, no damage.
A cop was right there after but didn't see what had happened. He just saw my car up on the curb. I had several witnesses that corroborated my story. One even said I had been heroic.
Charged with careless which stuck, 6 points plus monitary penalty and you don't want to know the jump in insurance. ????????????????????
Phil waves when he DRIVES by, if he sees me.
