I think Fenway Park is the other ballpark that is 100 years old or older. I kind of like the charm of the older ballparks. Wrigley Field didn't even have lights until ............
Charm? Fenway Park is an absolute dump...poor old wood seats, poor flow, poor spacing, poor poor poor......

Boston a beautiful city..... But they dropped the ball on Fenway!

William Wrigley, Jr. bought the Cubs just before the 1914 season. He completed construction of Wrigley Field that year and the the Cubs opened their sparkling new field in 1914. They are still in their "new" field and have not won a World Series in 101 years.
Sorry. You can say what you want but a ballpark that is older than any other cannot be considered a "new" ballpark. It is very old. So am I, and I can't convince anyone that I am not.

It was a brand new ballpark when Mr. Wrigley opened it in 1914.

Correct. And 1914 was over a hundred years ago. IT IS NOT A NEW BALL PARK. IT IS A HUNDRED YEARS OLD. How can anybody be so fixated on calling the oldest ballpark in its league a new park? I have a new car I would like to sell you. It's a 1995 honda civic, and it was new when I bought it in 1994, so by your logic if it was new when I bought it it's new today. I paid 23, 000, but for you I would take 22, 500. Just cause I like you.

Fenway Park is an insult to the Art of Baseball and just a festering piece of turd, as far as ballparks go.

The Red Sox organization needs to keep it that way in order to remain competitive in the A.L. East and with the Yankees in particular.

God knows with the deep Red Sox pockets, they could have built a new ball park ages ago. This is not on their agenda.
