Yes.. RA had a big 6 run lead.

Houston had a 6 run lead tonight too! End up losing by three runs.

Its playoff boys...great teams playing....Manager knows best.

and to be perfectly honest.... Price has not been that good..even as a leftie!

Fox commentators looked a bit puzzled as well
Someone said they did not think Reynolds was biased tonight.

WHAT!!!!!

They consistently analyzed with a view to support for the Rangers.

Never any helpful 'advice' or favorable musings for the Jays!

Talk about homers!!!

We were up 7-1! That's a 6 runs, it doesn't fall apart all at once.
100% wrong. One word. HOUSTON. They gave up 7 or 8 to blow a big lead today. Or is that a different sport or different league and somehow irrelevant?

The hate for Gibbons blinds people to the obvious, even when it happens the same day. You guys are ridiculous.

As it stands now Price labored thru 3 innings and now is unavail for game 5.
As it stands now, Price is available to pitch earlier in the next series. More important that he back up a home run prone Dickey with men on and dangerous hitters coming up in a must win today situation instead of being available to back our current best pitcher. Less chance of needing him on Wednesday.

I heard lots and lots of praise for the Jays from Reynolds today. Any potential for comeback for the Rangers was to keep viewers from switching off the game.

The other issue people up here don't realize is that it was 95 degrees Fahrenheit in Dallas today! Yes, really. So all the players, including Dickey were getting tired a lot more quickly than they would pitching at Rogers at 20 degrees C.

Hamels has been confirmed to start wednesday against Stroman.

I'm assuming Gallardo will be available from the pen

I would still rather face the other guy than Hamels. He's a big game pitcher and was cruising in the later innings after getting on track.

I suspect both Dickey & Estrada will be available in the pen.

I would bunt on Beltre all day long in game 5. He can't even move.

Are you sure it wasn't 10 or 12 run lead!? Houston had a 4 run lead, don't let facts get in your way ....

If you watch any amount of baseball, a 4 run lead in mid game is about 90% chance of win. a 6 run lead is prob about 95% win. Yes I will take a 95% chance win with Dickey and our bullpen.
(And who says we have to take all of the managers moves as gospel. THere's a massive sports talk/radio/blog industry second guessing the managers' moves.)

Now Texas has their 2 best pitchers (Hamels and Gallardo) ready and avail to go in game 5 while all our hopes are pinned on Stroman.

I can guess what Gibby was trying to do putting Price in a low leverage situation so he can work thru his nerves; and not hurt his feelings when they pick Stroman over Price in game 5. By keeping him in there a bit too long (when Sanchez was ready) and giving up 3 runs, Price's confidence is prob shaken even more.

Plus given Cecil is down and Loup is out, you gotta save some bullets.

"One word. HOUSTON" What a joke you are, if you don't know sh*t then STFU.

Even if Price was available to pitch tomorrow I'm not sure I trust him to pitch big games anymore. I hope its just a case of Texas having his number, and that Price will find his form against our next playoff opponent(s), but I'm not so sure

What has happened so far in this series, the decisions make themselves for Gibbons.

Go with Stroman, and hopes he has a good start. That's the only choice you got. Incidentally, that is the BEST choice at the moment.

After four playoff games, your most ineffective pitcher has been your ace, who was lights out a month ago. Baseball is a strange kind of game.

In an one game winner take all, you don't wait around to see in Price can figure out that Texas lineup. Go with Stroman, then Dickey.

HOUSTON is correct. So at 90% you bring in Price but at 95% you don't? What does your manual say to do at 92.5%?

Talk about knowing shit, that is less than what you know compared to any manager at any level of pro ball. Comparing yourself to a pro manager? For sure I'll take his decisions as gospel.

You sound so stupid, as if you know Price has nerves and what Gibby's intent was. Did they tell you because that is the only way you could know. Do you actually take yourself seriously?

As far as the radio call-ins, you just made my point. All you idiots think you know more than a man whose life has been baseball and gets paid in 7 figures. You are all the same, living in your wannabe fantasy land. I love hearing Wilner cut you guys to shreds.

Keep second guessing along with all your buds. That's all you can do because you have no qualifications to actually make decisions. You have a keyboard and hindsight and a big f'n mouth but second guessing on radio/blog etc. does not mean you know anything.

You should listen to your own advice. STFU is right.

Was there any doubt?

What's wrong with Gaillardo? Dickey pitched well and could have pitched a few more innings but Gibby wanted to secure the win. Choo had hit him consistently. Loup was unavailable due to a family emergency, I hope all is well, Price was his only recourse. Even though he struggled somewhat he did what was required. I expect Houston may trot out ZZ Top (Keuchel) against KC if they are close to winning.

I wonder if Earl Stroman will be in town Wednesday?

Clearly Stroman is the better choice for Wednesday. Price has a poor record vs Texas, and in the play-offs generally.

The RC will be electric (not sure that entirely helps though seeing how they performed first 2 games).

Sure would be fun to be there.

To all of the critics I have this to say.

Being on this board you should all know it's better to be pull out your Dickey a bit early rather than too late........

No such maxim. Strictly a theory to balance with giving your players a rest.
2 words: bull shit!

Momentum means EVERYTHING in the playoffs!

Thankfully, they got their MOJO back, and now they have momentum back in their favour.

Or as I say: "Every Dickey has its Price."

I wonder about that too. OTOH, the RC was frequently electric late in the regular season and the guys fed off that. I am guessing the poor play in Games 1 and 2 were just playoff nerves.
