That's easy to say now, 1 or 2 months ago the Jays had alot of holes on the team and were a .500 club. Many on this thread have relegated Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion to the scrap heap in favour of a) a second-tier starting pitcher or b) prospects. Can one not notice how idiotic that would be? Encarnacion and Bautista are elite hitters with a lot of tread left on their tires. Bautista has 29 homers with 84 rbi with a huge on base percentage so far Edwin is only slightly behind. They are still considered top ten power and rbi clubbers. I can't understand the comments hereon that denigrate first-rate hittters like these fellows or to think that the club would even hint at trading them.
Trading from strength to address weakness is generally a smart move. With offense at a premium in the league right now a player like EE would net a significant return (legit Starter++)
Fortunately AA used the Jays other strength, a deep pool of pitching prospects, to plug all the holes . and now we have a team everybody is scared to face.
Rosters expand in 1 week, who's getting called up? Possibilities: Roemon Fields, Dalton Pompey, Delabar, Tepera, Randy Wolf and team mascot Kawasaki.
