Many on this thread have relegated Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion to the scrap heap in favour of a) a second-tier starting pitcher or b) prospects. Can one not notice how idiotic that would be? Encarnacion and Bautista are elite hitters with a lot of tread left on their tires. Bautista has 29 homers with 84 rbi with a huge on base percentage so far Edwin is only slightly behind. They are still considered top ten power and rbi clubbers. I can't understand the comments hereon that denigrate first-rate hittters like these fellows or to think that the club would even hint at trading them.
That's easy to say now, 1 or 2 months ago the Jays had alot of holes on the team and were a .500 club.
Trading from strength to address weakness is generally a smart move. With offense at a premium in the league right now a player like EE would net a significant return (legit Starter++)

Fortunately AA used the Jays other strength, a deep pool of pitching prospects, to plug all the holes . and now we have a team everybody is scared to face.

Rosters expand in 1 week, who's getting called up? Possibilities: Roemon Fields, Dalton Pompey, Delabar, Tepera, Randy Wolf and team mascot Kawasaki.

Randy wolf was traded for cash, the others on you list are logical

I hear what your saying, but that bat just made a crazy offence, that much more dangerous. It's a tough pill swallow.

To bad because I really like the kid. Has a great attitude.
Add in Stroman.

Absolutely no team goes through a season without injury, even the champions. Look at all of the Cardinals pitchers out and they still have the best pitching stats. A true champion overcomes injuries with depth (an advantage the Yanks and Sox have had most years due to generous payrolls), players stepping up and moves made by management. The Jays are showing strength in all those area this year. Well done by all involved.

For sure injuries are tough but championship teams deal with it because they inevitably have to.

I can see how some might notice that these two may just be starting to slightly begin the downside to their careers. Still elite, however. Just not as elite.

Regardless, it is not just their raw numbers that count but the depth to the batting order it brings. They are huge from 1-6. You give up those guys and all of a sudden it becomes much easier to pitch to Donaldson.

However, the Jays are built to win this year and the next 1 or 2. This is what teams build for. They need to capitalize on where they are and what they have right now.

And as far as AA trading away their pitching prospects, that is a renewable resource that they can once again stockpile in the next couple of seasons while the big league team is still strong. He's shown that he has a great scouting and development system in place. He's been very thorough.

Unless some joke went over my head, I don't get the math. They are 4-1 with 3 to go
No joke there, busterhut is a dumb fuck.

Any chance Stroman wil be back in September?? I think Jays should take a chance with him.
Even if he does aggravate his hammy again he'll have 6 months of winter break to get better again. A worthy gamble IMO

They are still at the top of their class. How would the Jays replace the 35-40 homers and 100+ rbi that these two fellows would provide? Production like that is very hard to come by in the major leagues.

Nothing wrong with his hamstring, he tore the ACL in his left knee.

Right you are.

Rest of my post still stands however. Even if he re-injures his ACL he's got up to 6 months to heal up again
I dont think rushing players back from serious injuries is generally a good idea

Someone felt the Jays would be up for a 2-6 road trip. It was a bit of gently harmless sarcasm, both I and the person who posted that comment are likely happy that it isn't going to happen. Apparently it struck a bitter nerve with LoLrus-it was a bit of an insanely offensive statement. I suspect he doesn't like me, which worries me a LOT.

Oops. More of that damned sarcasm.

Their pitching has been great lately, but you think risking another major knee injury to a potential star is a good gamble ? And you think I'm a dumb fuck !!!!!!

I'm getting pissed....leave Joey Bats and EE alooone!

It amazes me that in the middle of all this success, the Leafs mentality prevails. This must be normal when you've been beaten down by perpetual loss. Bautista and EE are getting long in the tooth time to move them out. Big Poppy is older than both and yet there's no talk on the Red Sox board about moving him out. We should consider ourselves lucky to have had their production for so long. Opposing pitchers lose control of their bowels by the thought of pitching to them and yet some of you suffering Leafs Syndrome would ship them out. It's enough to make this leathery paisan cry.

Ask Josh Donaldson if Joey Bats and EE should be moved out, he'll tell you what I'm about to tell y'all...STFU.

Agreed-they are both producing at a very high level. More fixing what isn't broken. Leafs mentality is a good description-Larry Murphy is a classic example of a guy who wasn't good enough for the Leafs but was good enough to win a couple of cups with the Red Wings and to be a hall of famer. The best offense in baseball (by a long shot, btw) doesn't need to be dumping 30/100 guys with good OPS.

You are a very intelligent guy Busterhut, that is why I will buy you a drink last.

Casual fans, unlike devoted Jays fans like us, have short memories. When the dugout cleared after Sanchez got tossed who was it that got in the Royals faces. That's right, the mild mannered EE. And you could tell what he was saying, " you wanna piece of my team-mate cavron, ya gotta go through me first".

Facing EE when his back is up must not be pleasant.

Nope. Just feel bad that you are seriously that pathetic and immature. I am overweight, but have lost 150lbs in the past year. I go to the gym often, ride about 100 kms a week on my bicycle and walk about 30 kms a week. I'm doing just fine, and although overweight I am comfortable in feeling that I have accomplished a lot. So, with all the support I get from real decent people, many who don't even know me, I have trouble letting immature grade 3 style comments from morons like you and the LoLRus bother me at all. It just gives me a perspective on the sheer idiocy that can exist in the world today.
If all this makes me a fat dumb fuck then that's just OK with me. I'm not envious of you guys at all. Have a great day. :thumb:

I apologize to the rest of you for getting off topic. I much prefer to provide Jays input.
