Dickey is settling down but it was a mistake not to take young Hutch with them on this road trip.

They don't need him because of the off days. We have a day off and then it's Buehrle, Price, Estrada vs Texas. Then Hutch comes back for the weekend.

Sending him to Bisons allow him to work on control issues and miss a long road trip.

Dickey lucked in with the lead off non-double last inning.

It's all part of the team sport. Maybe Dickey was lucky but the defense (Pillar/Tulo) picked him up. This is in stark contrast to the Angels' defense or lack thereof. Also a nice double play around the horn in the 6th.

Question. Has Tulo's lack of hitting at #1 hurt the team? They have a great record with him leading off. Why tinker and maybe risk disrupting what has been a great streak? If it ain't broke....

35 runs scored in a 3-game series is a new Blue Jay record

Dickey not fooling anyone, already down 5-1 and he's given up 5 hits and still not out of the first. We're going to need a lot of offence to win today.
And yet, R.A. Dickey bears down, goes six strong (well, a tough 1st, and 5 solid innings) and keeps his team in the game.
No doubt he didn't have his good stuff today, but the mark of a solid veteran pitcher is what Dickey exhibited this afternoon.

That series w LAA must rank as one of the most complete, shameful and brutal routs of 1 MLB team by another that I recall seeing. The Jays have made another major statement to go with taking 3 of 4 from KC, sweeping Twins and sweeping NYY in the Bronx.

If the hitting stays as torrid as in the LAA series, we're coasting to the AL East pennant.

What many people said would be a tough road trip has turned into a cakewalk so far

Maybe I missed some but I don't think I saw Gibbons sitting on the bench once all series and they swept. Maybe Nad is right.

Even better, O's have lost 4 in a row to fall 6.5 behind us and now go into KC for a series with the Royals. And NYY hosts the Astros with A-Roid and Tex on the bench. Astros are a lousy road team, but still a division leader.

This week could see us gain substantial ground.

He was doing some all star calibre spitting as well. Maybe he was just slumping before and now he's got it going again.

Now all the people whining about the Yankees not having as many losses as the Jays will have to find something new to complain about.

Guys, we have to think with our big head and not our heart. With our potent offense, superior defense and outstanding relief pitching, we don't need a $31 million SP. In fact, an average SP could win 20 games with this team. (The old Dodger team needed a Sandy Koufax because they couldn't score runs, not an issue with this Jay team.)

I totally disagree. You need an ace in your pitching staff, regardless of how good your offense is.

Your offense isnt always gonna be there, its gonna have plenty of off days. And when it does you need a guy like Price to keep the score low

Really? I'd say Dickey is a little below average (over the long haul with great and bad starts) and Buehrle is average. Neither is gonna win 20 games with this team. Not that they can't, but the odds are against it. Find an average pitcher that has multiple 20 win games on a team that has a great offense.

Here's a 'much better than average' pitcher who only won 20 once. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/mussimi01.shtml Note that it came in his final season at age 39.
