Cola leads all Jays in hits despite having missed all of April and a few days in May

More bad news, Travis shut down for at least the next week or so as his shoulder is still not close to being ready. He's quoted today as saying the pain has flared up again over the last few days and it's so bad he hasn't been able to sleep. Looks like he might be out for the long term.

Haven't seen a Jays team defence this bad in quite a while.

who is that left fielder he is terrible
Colabello is in left. He's a first baseman by trade and it's obvious he's not much of an outfielder as he's screwed up several plays over the last several games. I posted earlier that Joey Bats would normally be in the outfield had it not been for his stupid and selfish play against the Orioles which is how he hurt his shoulder in the first place, now the Jays have been stuck putting infielders in the outfield and it's cost us a lot of runs because of it.

Jerry Howarth on the radio was saying that Jose Reyes just can't play infield at the MLB level anymore.
Missing routine plays that he should be able to make.

Maybe they should trade him and retain 75% of his salary on Blue Jays books the way the owner of the California Angels deals with players who can't play up to their salary anymore.
Probably the best you can get in an open market.
Either that or make him into your DH somehow if Joey Bats ever becomes healthy.

It feels like outfield defence has costed the Jays about 5 wins this year.

Can you imagine that? An outfielder trying something so unusual as throwing a ball? They gotta know they'll get injured everytime. Totally selfish.

That particular play was Delmon Young had singled into left field and JB try's to throw him out at first base. He only hot dogged it because during that series Orioles pitchers were throwing at him. So he tried to make some kind of statement and hurts himself and the team. If you had researched the incident you would know what I'm talking about.

Here
I have yet to see what the big deal is about this guy since the trade. Only Josh Johnson might turn out to be a bigger stiff.
Don't count Dickie out of the running for the grand prize!

30/31 since coming here; 5.77 ERA this year... other than his Cy Young year has been mostly a sub 50/50 pitcher and 71/81 lifetime journeyman...

Even Brandon Morrow [who, BTW, is on the DL again... with right shoulder inflammation, of course!] has a better record...

He has tried that play previosly and was successful. Nobody complained and many called it a great play. However, because he hurt himself this time without getting the runner out people are saying he was hot dogging.

Colabello looked absolutely shit awful in LF today. Probably the worst performance I recall seeing by an MLB OF. He should be playing DH or 1B. Hopefully, when JB goes back into LF, Cola plays DH or 1B and the fielding improves. He fucked 2 plays today and the 2nd screw-up lost the game.

The guy is doing his best and is delivering at the plate, but we cannot afford to trade off his bat for runs against in this way, as we are getting fucked in the trade off.

All Jays fans are learning or re-learning is that good pitching and defence beats good hitting...and often by one run. I wonder if the "braintrust" does anything about trying to get Reyes to play better defence and be smarter on the bases...and although I like the guy, I wonder if he would give a crap if he was taken to task by someone other than Zaun.

I know exactly what happened. All he did was throw a ball. Who expects to get injured throwing from shallow right to 1st base? Totally fluke. He could make the same throw 1,000 times with no after effects.

Nothing selfish, just freakish.
